good jumping rope
The jumping rope is very good. But the handles are made of plastic and are not very strong. They might break after few weeks/months.

UPDATED REVIEW -- Wow! After using the Gaoykai weighted rope for more than a week, I can attest to the killer workout that this rope provides. As I mentioned in my original review below, the metal handles are hollow, and I was able to transfer the cylinder weights from my old rope into the handles of this one. The total weight is now just under 2 lbs. Now when I jump this rope for 15-20 minutes of jumping time, I am drenched! Previously with my 1 lb weighted-handle rope, I would feel the workout but I would not sweat. Now it's a whole new experience. After my 1 1/2 total workout time, I feel like I've been through a wringer of sorts. My body feels light and relaxed. Highly recommend this kind of rope for a TOTAL workout. My old weighted jump rope was nearing its end as the rope was literally worn out. However, my old rope had weights in the handles for a total of about 1 lb. I wanted to try a rope where the ROPE was also weighted, and I wanted to increase the overall weight to 2 lbs. This rope from Gaoykai fit the bill. I got the red rope which is nice and thick. The handles are metallic and hollow, and my only gripe was with the rubber grip that only covers a portion of the handle. It also felt uncomfortable. I simply rolled off the rubber grip and reversed it inside out and then put it back on more towards the top of the handles. That feels better to me. My old rope had foam handles which were very comfortable. The good thing about this rope is that the construction is pretty solid and attractive. You can uncap the handles on both ends. I was able to remove the weighed cylinders from my old rope, put some tape around them and then insert into the Gaoykai handles. I put the tape so that the cylinders wouldn't bounce around. With the rope's weight of around 1 lb. and the weights I have inserted in the handles, the total weight is not just under 2 lbs. BUT IT IS HEAVY! Going up from 1 lb. to 2 lbs. is no walk in the park. I usually jump for 15 minutes non-stop and now with this beast of a rope, I had to take a few stops until I build more resistance. Good value for the money, compared to some expensive options on Amazon.

It's OK to use, it's heavy and that's good. But my key problem is not solved. It curles. I set the rope under pressure with weight for two days straight and it still curls, which annoys my experience.

I bought this heavier jump rope after reading & seeing on YouTube that a weighted rope is better for beginners to slow down the rotation a fraction while you learn the moves. Not only does it work really well for that, it's also a killer upper body workout. I genuinely feel that I'm now working harder through my whole body and getting a great overall workout as I slowly learn more techniques. I was a bit intimidated the first couple of times I used it because, compared to the MUCH lighter ropes (which are better for speed) that I had bought before, this one really does demand more work but you get used to it quickly and soon appreciate the difference. I would highly recommend this product, it's also very easy to adjust to the correct length. My only criticism (if I could deduct a half star) is that the rubber patch on the handles is way too small to really maintain a good and relatively sweat-free grip, and it slowly moves further down the handle as you skip which is annoying.

As someone who just wanted to give jump roping a try, I didn't want to make a hefty investment, but I also didn't want to go too cheap after a disappointing experience with a Dollarama skipping rope that quickly snapped. That's when I stumbled upon this budget-friendly jump rope. What I like about this jump rope is the gel-like feel of the weight, which adds a nice touch to my workout routine. It's sturdy and does its job well. However, I did notice that the length feels a bit shorter than expected, even though I'm using what's considered the proper length for my height. It's possible that it might be due to my form or preferences. Despite the minor length issue, I'm planning to continue using this jump rope. It's proven to be a reliable and affordable choice for someone like me, who's just testing the waters with jump roping. It strikes a balance between quality and affordability, making it a valuable addition to my fitness routine.

I just got it today so I have only used it for a few hundred jumps but since I am experienced in rope jumps, it's safe to leave a comment now. I generally do a few thousand jumps a day. The weight is in the rope, which is nice because it adds a bit of extra work as opposed to the ones that have the weight in the handle. It doesn't get tangled since it's so thick and heavy. I chose this one with aluminum handles over the ones with plastic handles. I feel the weight of the rope might be too tough on the plastic handles. Some have complained about the relatively small silicone grips on the handles, I can see that a big silicone grips will be more useful. I have not used it so much that sweat will become a problem, but I will update my comment later if I notice anything. Hopefully, this will help me tone my arms and back.
