DEPENDABLE,EASY TO USE & WELL WORTH THE LOW PRICE
I fully recommend these fire starters. I take cotton balls and spread them apart and put petroleum jelly, vaseline inside then wad it up in a ball coating it good. It makes a very small ball until ready to use. You can put several of these in a little medicine bottle and keep in your backpack, bug out bags. When you get ready to start your much needed fire just pull it apart into 2 pieces, which will make it expand, fluffy and hit it with some spark's and it combust into a quick fire that will last up to 4 minutes. Plenty of time to get your tinder, kindling going. For the price you can't beat these fire starters, ferro rods. They have a good grip, easy to hold, nice thickness, length is good. I loved them so much I went back and ordered more. So I could have some extras. Don't be price gouged by more expensive ferro rods when this is all you will need. I have no doubt that I will be able to fully depend on these ferro rods anytime or any place if the need arises. This is the only second time I've used something like this to start a fire and I didn't have any problem at all. So that should tell you how easy they are to use.

Works fine
Works okay, just a bit awkward and bulky for storage

Great cheap rods
If you purchase items such as this for stuff and things then your really know what's up and it needs no explanation. I keep one of these on every piece of equipment around the farm for starting fires, very effective

Ferrocerium rods, NOT Magnesium rods.
Despite the almost completely Bogus Description, This is a fantastically great set of 2 Ferrocerium + Scraper Fire starting tools. They work AWSOME!!Don't rely on the description, It's almost complete nonsense. It MAY have some Magnesium in it (not likely much) There is absolutely NO need to "Scrape" the rod first, other than maybe to flatten it, and would NEVER LAST as long as claimed if you did. The Bag is NOT water proof as advertised. It can't be, it's a drawstring cloth bag, which 'could' be used as tinder in a dire emergency. Under normal usage, just about ANY Ferro rod is likely to last longer than just about any human.

It was easy to work with and great value for the money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Amateurs Review - It Worx 4 Me !
Size -Pros - fits in ur pocket or Key Ring, even belt loop, Carabineer, tooCons - Not super easy to hold in my XL handsInstructions -Cons - None for AmateursPros - Try n Fail method after watching a few Utube VidsStriker -Pros - Has Ruler Toothy "C" shape for shavings ? 90° ? Flat Edge for StrikingTips -1) (Toothy "C" shape on striker)I used it to shave particles for faster burning when spark hits tinder pile or birds nest.2) (Thin Flat Edge 90° ?)I used that for Striking3) (4 a Good Spark Shower)I used thin flat Edge at an angle. In "Long n Fast strokes", repeatedly. In order to get the shower of sparks needed to start Embers or an ember in a Birds nest.4) (Dryer Lint ?)I used a "Nickel or Quarter" size ball of Dryer Lint (try it Outdoors Only !) This will ignite your flammable tinder pile aka Birds nest.
