Q: Is there a bearing under the top cap that allows the entire spinner unit to rotate on the pole so it's always facing 90 degrees to the wind?

My husband the engineer said "Yes" to spinning freely, but specifically 90 degrees to the wind "NO".We have three Stanwood Spinners in our courtyard. Two vertical and one horizontal with three layers.The Stanwood Wind Spinners have never had any difficulty finding a direction to turn withthe wind in Texas, which comes from every direction. 90 degrees is possible but not always.

Q: How big is the package? Are The blades coming separated or already assembled ?

Package measures approximately 48 inches. 24" blades are assembled. Post comes in two pieces. Base attaches to post.

Q: Does this make any noise like squeaks or creaks when it moves?I live in warmer climate and this would be outside all year. How about after years?

We live in Colorado. Not a year round warm climate! Absolutely quiet. No wind noise, no blade spinning noise. Did just lift the top off the pole and put the blades and bearings into the shed for the snow and cold months.
