I wanted to give four stars and take away for the smell, but people have told me this is natural for this type castor oil. I smell like I've rolled in the ashes after a fire lol but it's very nice feeling on the skin and I have deep conditioned my hair with it and it does help the dryness there as well.

Thick, as it should be. Pump works well. Now on to the product, I put this stuff on every part of my body that I can reach. There is a bit of a smell, but, once you smell it- you've then gotten used to it. And the roasted smell, because that's what IT IS, is gone. I have come to embrace the smell -- as it tells my skin and hair; prepare to feel better. From hair to toenails. And everything in-between. Don't plan to be without my Castor Oil. And for some reason, the 'smell' keeps me buying this particular brand. When I get mid-way through a bottle, I order another and then, another.

I love this oil as my skin has never felt so moisturized and smooth in a while. It also has helped with healing scars or scratches I may have on my skin. The only downside is the smell. Since this is real black castor oil the smell can be overpowering and off-putting. It smells like old peppered steak, dirt, and boiled leather. So would recommend buying an essential oil to cut the smell. Otherwise would recommend!

This brand I've been using for awhile with other products they have in Amazon & haven't had a problem with those product. So recently I needed a serious moisturizer for my dry hands and feet & came across this castor oil by this great company and I had to get this. First of all...I put this on my dry hands & feet & I was pleasantly surprised by the long lasting moisturizing power over a period of 8 hours! I only used a dime size so that created a cheap alternative to my store nught lotions...a little bit gies a long way. The thickness doesn't bother me one bit because I use a small amount. The sheen that this product leaves on my skin is amazing! But I only have one small issue...the smell is not great. I actually mixed this with a lavendar oil I have & the smell wasn't so bad aft that. I want to make my review a 5 star but the smell is a definite issue that can't go unnoticed.m so its a deserved 4 stars which is still great! This product is nonetheless a great product in spite of one little issue & I will be buying again!. Thank you so much!

I purchased this product because I have spot up in the top of my head that had thinned out real bad due to damage of braids being too tight on my scalp. I had caused some trauma there and looking to get my hair up and growing back like it was before. I had someone to share their experience with me about this line of Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I do not like the smell of this version it has a smell of a smoky cigar or cigarette type of smell for lack of a better term. The texture is thick (but not creamy) at all and have a semi sticky texture but not sticky like caramel candy sticky. I have not seen any leftover residue on my thick 4C hair. It seems like that it will work but I am too early in the game to see how it does. I will continue to use this on my hair but will update this review as times goes in. My Spiritual Mother hair has grown back in the top of her head so I have faith that mine will as well. Lastly, when the products arrived to my home I had no problems with the delivery or packaging everything came like so. I am very well pleased thus far.

This genuine Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil for Hair Growth & Natural Skin Care really works ! I am used to buying high end hair masks and conditioners but no more , this product gave my long thick hair new life , lustrous shine and hydration too without weighing it down . I added a few drops to the palm of my hands and massaged it into my scalp then rubbed my hands down the length , braided it and the following morning shampooed my hair and was shocked ! it was vibrant full and no greasy feel whatsoever . A full pump would have been too much oil so go easy with a few drops 1/2 pump at most if you are just getting to know the product . I am so thrilled with it , the prior reviewers mentioned the subtle earthy smell which is only slight and expecting it due to it being a plant product , I could smell nothing at all . My husband , son & daughter were so impressed they are all using it now as well . I am growing my platinum hair out naturally and no longer coloring it so it was fly away and dry due to this change but I have found my answer to gorgeous thick hair again with this product , by the way my husband and I are both hair stylists so I feel that I had to share this natural , affordable and amazing product . Do not hesitate to try it and your skin will love it as well .

I received this product and it had zero smell of black ash, which is typical of all black castor oil. It had lost its efficacy so I sent it back. Check you expiration dates!

Good quality oil with a rich, thick texture. I’ve been using it for hair/skin and it feels nourishing and moisturizing. The bottle is easy to use and a little goes a long way.

Easy to apply and make castor oil packs, smell is not so strong but might bother others , great for many issues. Is thick . Good amount for the money.

I love this its dark in color. ive bought what was advertised as Jamaican black but its Pale in color
