My 5 month old Rat Terrier destroyed the pink puppy KONG. Upgraded to the black KONG! Tough enough and small enough for her to chew. Perfect size and strength!

These Extreme Kongs are the best!I don't understand all the folks having trouble with their dogs chewing off the ends or ruining the extreme version.I can see it with the red ones because they are for light chewers,but the black are VERY durable.I have six dogs.I purchased one Kong first to test it out,before buying the rest.I have an Alapaha Bulldog who is approx 70 lbs and can chew through anything within a matter of minutes,he has yet to chew through this or even leave a mark on it.I fill it with beggin strips,peanut butter,froot loops,table scraps,whatever,and he loves it! We are talking a bully breed with a very large mouth and strong bite force.Next dog,is a very large Coonhound,who also is a very aggressive chewer.Same reaction,she loves it! and no chewing through it and she knaws it to death! Then I have 3 beagles(boys & girl),all good size,cause they like to eat :) and no problems.The last is my minipin,and believe it or not,she is an aggressive chewer,and out of all six dogs,they ALL love it! No falling apart,no biting pieces off,and no destruction at all actually.I am not sure if these are made for the freezer or the dishwasher,so maybe thats why folks are having problems.Maybe it's wearing down the vitality of it by tossing it into the dishwasher,I don't know.I just rinse mine with hot water all the time.I do know that I use the large and xlarge sizes.Some folks might be buying them too small for a larger dog,or if you have a small dog who is an aggressive chewer,go up a size.According to the product info I should be using a small for my mini,but she has a medium and its better for her to grip and she can fit her lil nose in there better.Plus I don't have to worry about her knawing off the end because it's bigger then required.They bounce like a wobbly ball,good for fetch and they are good for just chewing without a snack in them,although my dogs think I'm crazy if I give it to them without food! LOL They see the Kongs come out and they all come a running! THESE ARE WORTH THE MONEY! and so far,AMAZON,has the best price on them and FREE shipping! Most balls can be destroyed within seconds by our little Jack Russell. This ball is hardly able to be destroyed. This design also makes running for the ball unpredictable after the bounce so that makes it more fun. We put it in an orange Kong launcher ( in place of the ball it came with which she destroyed in seconds) it goes far.

It stands up to our Spike, the aggressive chewer, we fill it with kibble and it keeps him busy in the evening@

I LOVE Kong products. I’ve had the large one for my big golden/German Shepard dog for 8 years and even the new 8 month old pit cannot distort it. However I also have a 1 and a 1/2 year old 15 lb dog who can’t get his tiny mouth over any of the toys. I bought the tiny Kong that was red and the pit destroyed it in about an hour. So I looked to see if there was a super chewer version for small dogs and found this one. The little dog was so excited yesterday when I opened it. He had a fetch with toy his size!! But lo and behold when I got home from work today the pit had chewed the small layer off. It’s probably good for a small heavy chewer however is is not pit chew proof.

So far it is holding up well with my two dogs!

In the past, we have been very happy with the Kong products we have purchased for our dogs. However, this is not that! We purchased this chew toy for our new 8.5 pound Rescue Dog who is believed to be part Shih Tzu and part Jack Russell carrier... But trust me when I say she's far more Jack Russell! This little six-month-old chews on everything and is much harder on her toys than our other dog who is much larger. We had originally purchased the Kong puppy toy for teethers and she chewed right through it, chewing off the edges and ingesting them before we realized it and threw it away. The blue plastic was found in her poo in the yard. We purchased this black Kong dog toy for Extreme Chewers because we were familiar with the products and had previously been very happy with the line. It was delivered July 20, 2021, and today, July 23, 2021, she broke it into two pieces as seen in the attached pictures. Thankfully, I was supervising her and I was able to remove the pieces before any problems occurred. The smaller piece, as you can see, could easily have been lodged in her esophagus. Trust me when I say please please please monitor your dogs closely because even when you do, bad things can happen. Several years ago with a different dog, in spite of her being right beside me on a blanket and having a high-end highly dissolvable dog chew, my little dog got it stuck in her esophagus and wasn't getting enough oxygen. Her gums started turning purple and as I rushed her to the vet she started wobbling and almost passed out due to the lack of oxygen. While at the vet, it apparently moved enough she could breathe but we had to take her to an emergency animal hospital 40 minutes away and have it removed under anesthesia. Over $3,000 later, I still had my little dog. I had researched and found the absolute best quality "safest" teething chew I could find for her and in spite of this, it almost killed her. I CANNOT recommend this Kong toy because in less than three days it was chewed into two separate pieces... one of them being the perfect size to lodge in her throat. -Diana

Bastante durable

Ich war mir erst nicht sicher ob unsere Kleine das so annimmt. Ich hab ihr das Teil erst mal zum spielen gegeben. Sie nahm es sofort ins Maul und kaute drauf rum, nachdem ich es geworfen habe, jagt sie ihm auch fröhlich hinterher. Da ich ja eine Größe S gekauft habe ist das Loch entsprechend klein. Eine volle Mahlzeit passt da eher nicht rein. Ich musste es 4 mal auffüllen bis sie ihr ganzes Nassfutter bekam. Was ich super finde ist das sie so länger damit beschäftigt ist ihr Futter zu fressen. Wenn sie es im Napf bekommt ist es nach einer Minute weg. So dauert das ganz halt länger und wir haben ruhe beim Abendessen. :) Leider hat sie noch nicht den dreh raus wie sie bis ganz in die Spitze kommt. Nach der Hälfte muss ich helfen. Denn sie lässt es einfach liegen und schau wo mehr ist. Das säubern des Kongs ist okey wenn man keine Spülmaschine hat. Hilfreich wäre eine schmale Bürste um an die Spitze zu kommen. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden damit. Das war ein guter Kauf zum guten Preis. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

So far this seems to be holding up against my wee patterjack's lethal attack. She gradually bit her red kong to pieces so we decided to get the extra strong one. No pieces have been torn off it yet.
