Great - but order correct size
We ordered the adult size for our 11 year old based on other reviews. The adult size did not fit. We thought it may work temporarily, but it would not. The guard was rubbing against gums and popping out of mouth. We were able to find the youth size at DICKS Sporting Goods. Overall, the quality is very good and durability is good. Youth size fits great.

Good but Needs a Trim
I bought this for my 11-year-old son. He is big for his age--the youth sizes are too small (have been for 2 years). Our son is 5'6" so far. He has up and down braces and recently switched from elastic band to the medieval torture spring-loaded contraption because he was too lazy to put in his elastics and we'd like our son out of braces before he turns 20 and we go broke. The rear part of the mouthguard is uncomfortable as is. The top edges abrade my son's gums. I complained to our orthodontist and one of the hygienists expertly cut the top outside ends down on an angle so there is still support without the pain. I'm not sure how she smoothed it--maybe with a bur (I looked this up).She also did this with one of the mouthguards the orthodontist gives away for free (if you ask--I think most have plenty on hand). Now we have a back up as well, which is great because we can barely find either of them when it's game time. If needed, I will try this maneuver myself on the next mouthguard. I think I can trim it with an X-acto blade but need to figure out how to smooth it. Or I'll just bring it in for a trim. Our orthodontist told my son and I that he must wear the mouthguard for basketball as well as flag football. He has had a lot of cases (one that week) where a basketball-rebounding boy elbowed the victim in the mouth. Problems ensued. Better safe and drooly than in the hole for another $6,000. FWIW, my son begrudgingly complies with this mandate because the orthodontist told him this directly and it was obvious I hadn't contrived to make the conversation happen.

Adult size fits 10 year old kid with braces perfectly
Based on many reviews indicating the Youth size was way too small, I took the chance and rushed the shipping on an Adult size Shock Doctor braces mouthguard to arrive in time for camp. The Adult size fits perfectly for a 10 year old with braces. It’s very soft and flexible to easily fit around braces. It should not be boiled to mold to fit around braces, it’s meant to be warm as is, but seems to be protective enough for sports use. My 10 year old put it around his braces easily the first time, and likes the mouthguard.Based on all of the reviews saying the Youth size is way too small for kids of the age where they are playing sports, it seems Shock Doctor should consider revising their sizes and making a true youth size and a true adult size.

No protection for bottom braces
Product is horrible. Doesn't fit my mouth even though it's advertized to be sold in adult size. Has an incredibly bad smell. I've used mouth guards numerous times in my life and have never experienced one with this bad of smell. When I tried on the mouth guard there is no protection for bottom braces (top only) even though it's advertised in it's instructions to have protection for bottom braces as well. There are no holes for breathability like advertised. I will be trying the versatility of a different product in the future. Don't waste your money on this product.

Mouth Guard
I ordered because I’m a grinder when I sleep. Not every night but most. The product is of good quality, easy to put in and it stays in place but I could not go to sleep with it in. It just wasn’t comfortable. It is something foreign in my mouth so…All in all it’s a product, at a good price, just wasn’t for me.

Braces
If you have braces, you need to buy this mouthguard now! No molding is required. The guard is durable (I've already been hit in the mouth while wearing it), comfortable, and easy to use.
