Dutch Windmill Speculaas (Spiced Cookies) (14 ounce)

My husbands family is from Holland, and this is a favorite cookie for the family. It has a mild spice, and is delicious.

Gift for my mother.

Having tried other brands, this one rates very good. It is a little shy on taste but is not brick hard as some others. The package was adequate as no cookies were broken. A bit pricey, but worth it for the holiday season.

These were ok compared to the Gerwuz Spekulatius which were sent to me from Germany. The texture was a little grainey and the taste was fine. I will order the onesGerwuz ones next time soon.

These are a lovely spicy confection.It is a delight to indulge in them with tea or coffee. It is a nice accent for ice cream as well, and I should think that a pie crust made out of crushed cookies would be excellent, indeed a special treat.
