Don't Say Yes When You Want to Say No: Making Life Right When It Feels All Wrong

NEED A RAISE OR CAREER BOOST BUT BEING OVERLOOKED ALL THE TIME? This book will change your life.
Mandatory reading for any woman who wants to get ahead or just feel good about how she is treated. Read this book eons ago and practiced in front of a mirror saying NO/certain phrases to requests that made me feel weak or uncomfortable or used. I went from a shy, take-what's-leftover-from-the-feast kind of person to someone who says what she means, makes sure she is heard and then reaps the benefits of the respect she has earned. When you allow people to "walk all over you", they eventually learn to resent you for being so easily manipulated. I have purchased this book for MANY friends and every one of the them felt it was transformative in their careers and personal lives. This is an old book. I AM SO GLAD IT IS STILL BEING PUBLISHED.

This Book Will Change Your Life!
This book has changed my life. I was faced with a crisis where I felt that I never had enough time, partially because I could never say no to people. This book will help you get along better with your mate, your friends, and help with goal setting. One of the most lifechanging texts I have ever read!

Very useful - for standing up for yourself, in a daily life
I found this book, very useful. To some extent, it helped me toshape my character. I feel stronger now, while dealing with tricky issues, both at work and with friends. Try to finish the whole book and be patient. You should try to use some of the techniques in real life, to see any change. You will have a chance to understand that being humble, all the times, doesn't necessarily make you are a nice person. You should respect yourself first, before expecting some one would respect you.

Saying no can be difficult
My favorite book if all time. We all can get boxed into doing things that we don’t want to do. This book helps identify how to respond and keep yourself true to your own needs

waste of money and time
The whole concept of don’t say yes when you say no, it was barely in the book, and most stuff/topics was common senseDidn’t learn anything new from reading this …and the pages/bonding does fall apart

recommended by therapist
this book was recommended by a therapist, and even though we are trying to read it, it isn't something you want to go back to.

To recommend
Although I received an old copy and was a little hesitating it was a good buy. Everything is absolutely valid today and can be transferred to your own life. A bit slow and heavy to start but then coming right to the point(s). It does cover a lot more than just not to say yes if you want to say no and goes much deeper. It speaks about lots of issues which come with it. It gave me some good thoughts and will get you started to read more. A bit special in the way it's written but bringing everything to the point. I marked the pages and read through it from time to time, like my self help bible (one of many).
