I've gone through a bottle of this, and have ordered a replacemet, so decided it was time to review. My apartment complex has a lot of plants and greenery, and, thus, lots of bugs and lots of spiders who eat those bugs. I don't mind them so much if they stay outside where they belong, but, eventualy, some of them end up crawling into my home, at which point I draw the line. Before using this spray, I used Raid, which, well, works like a killer. The problem with the Raid is the smell, which is either really foul or really perfume-y, depending on what kind you get. Either type of smell gives me headaches and migraines, so I went in search of an alternative. When I found this Terro spray, I decided to give it a shot, based on all the reviews. It wasn't long before I got a chance to test it out, and it does the job it's supposed to do, although not as fast as Raid. With Raid, it usually just takes one spray and the spider begins to show signs of poisoned death immediately. With the Terro, I found myself spraying and then watching a spider that was seemingly unaffected. When I kept watching, however, the spiders eventually fell from their spots, crawled a little, and then died. One of the reviews say that the spiders seem to melt...this is fairly accurate, in my view. I just vaccuum the dead bodies up in order to avoid touching them, but a few baby ones that I sprayed had to be wiped off my bathroom counter, as they had stuck there from melting a little. Although it doesnt work as FAST as Raid, it does work well, and it doesn't have that horribly overpowering smell that Raid does. There is a smell, of course, but it's not as strong fo a smell and it doesn't spread to every corner of the house like Raid smell does. This smell stays localized in the sprayed area and then dissipates fairly quickly. I don't think if it keeps spiders away for months as it claims, but it does keep them away for two or three weeks, which is pretty good by me.

We try not to use harsh chemicals around our home in general, and pesticides are no exception. A lot of the time they end up killing the beneficial bugs in the area, so we try to avoid their use as much as possible. This stuff WORKS. Do the larger ones instantly drop? No, they don't. The bigger the spider, the longer it takes to act, but they DO die and that's what I'm after. HOWEVER, the amount of black widow spiders that cropped up this summer was alarming to say the least. Those "all natural" methods might work for some areas, but it absolutely does not work for where we live. I generally don't mind spiders as long as they stay outside (free pest control, really), but we've already come across upwards of 40 black widows so far since the beginning of summer. It all started with "Big Girl" outside in the backyard in an unobtrusive area that rarely sees activity. Seeing as she was the only one around we could see, and her sheer size (about the size of a quarter, including legs; her body itself was almost the size of a juul pod, got a great look at the red hourglass shape, surprise it's actually kind of squiggly around the edges) suggested that she was either one of only a few or the only one in the yard... so we let her be. Huge mistake apparently. A few months in, she must've found a mate and laid a giant clutch of eggs because they were suddenly EVERYWHERE. Even in the garage, and the males were coming INSIDE the house. Now, the quantity is really enough to start thinning the herd here, but we also have cats and a dog and they're all elderly. The last thing I need in my life is one of them getting a dose of venom somehow and ending up needing emergency care (or worst case scenario, dying). So I bit back the guilt of using a pesticide and bought this stuff. I shake the hell out of it, so that may help in how quickly they drop compared to other users. I also coat them until they're white, point blank spray. I haven't seen a single one survive this stuff yet, and some of Big Girl's brood ended up quite large themselves. Pro Tip: the males look just like miniature medium brown versions of the females, just no hourglass. It's good to dispatch these guys as quickly as possible, because without them there won't be such a quick spike in infestation. Good luck to you!

Standard for all my reviews: When reviewing products, I always remain objective and honest about the product or service. I always review with information that I feel others would like to know about the product as I always assume what I'm writing will influence for or against the purchase. I always try to go above and beyond surface characteristics and input into quality, value and application. Most importantly, I will always end the review with an answer as to whether I'd purchase the product again which I believe is the most critical question pertaining to the item. To manufacturers: Want me to review your items, just let me know! What I like about this spray is that while it still possesses that artificial sweet smell that makes you want to hold your breath and not breathe in the toxic fumes, it's not nearly as bad as some of the others I've used. What I care most about is the distance of the spray/mist and how effective it is against spiders. I've used it on other bugs as well as needed and it's just as effective. For spiders, however, it's deadly. Using it outside my house entryway, I was spraying up relatively high as I obviously had a nest that hatched in the recent past on top of more mature spiders that I had neglected for sometime. By the time I was done spraying lightly, it was 'raining spiders' ... that's exactly what it was like. A bit startling actually. It's obviously not pretty to watch but it gets the job done and without that overly toxic smell. Still suggest a mask when using this spray. I'll be purchasing it again in the future at this price point.
