Q: Hey, does this case work for the new 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina display?

NO, absolutely not, the only way it fits is if you add about a 1" pice of foam. There is a version of this case that comes with a peel away foam insert that will allow the 15" retina macbook pro to fit snugly in the case. I am not sure but I think it ends in BC or something versus the CC of this case. I have this 1095CC case and a retina 15" macbook, the only way it fits without bouncing around all over inside the case is with a foam pies that works well enough to keep it from knocking around inside.

Q: What are dimensions of individual pick-pluck cubes? How many cubes in each direction? Is there more than one layer so that depth can be adjusted in different places?

Each cube is about 1cm, in a grid of 23x17. There is a second non-cubed layer below, and below that is the hard plastic bottom.
