Ross & Wilson Anatomy and Physiology in Health and Illness

It is a well written book with nicely illustrated. The depth of information can be considered of medium level which makes sufficient for preclinical years and early years of basic science. Nice read and easy to understand for people who seek general knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

I bought this to have an up to date copy of Ross and Wilson ( previously had a 3rd edition which was released in 1982 😱 that was a fantastic book and this one is in a whole other league. Loads of updated information, it’s colourful, well laid out and there are learning questions at the end of each chapter to test yourself. Additionally for the technophiles there are codes within the book that lets you use and app which is amazing for any new medical student or as a reference for more season health professional. Tbh I don’t know if it’s an improvement on the later additions (12th,11th etc) but I is definitely worth having a copy

I first bought Anatomy and Physiology for Dummies. I threw it out. In terms of the production quality, this is a heavy book with pages of substantial weight. As for content, the writing is professional and so are the illustrations. The level of detail is excellent. This is exactly what I was looking for as a critical care nurse. I like it so much, I bought a 2nd one for my brother, who is not a medical professional but has a keen interest in everything related to healthcare.
