Wonderful for Loose Tea
I previously owned two of these for 8 years until I clumsily broke them both (do be careful as they are fragile). These allow you to drink loose tea without having to deal with the hassle of cleaning a tea diffuser, which I find to be a headache for just a cup of tea! I did have one small issue with this purchase. The previous wands I bought came each came in a plastic tube for storage. I was disappointed these did not. They were mailed in bubble wrap. Luckily I saved the tubes so I can store the new ones.

OK for tea leaves
I wanted a non-metal, non-plastic tea strainer. I also wanted a glass straw so as not to stain my teeth. This product seemed to have both. The end you put in your mouth has been crimped (flattened a bit). This probably gives a more comfortable feel but also makes it extremely difficult to clean out the inside of the straw. The opening is too small to push pretty much anything into the straw. After six months of use the ball end is a bit discolored and ready for some cleaning. Maybe you could just boil it in water for awhile. The holes in the ball end are smooth (i.e. formed when the glass is soft not cut after the glass is hard) which is nice. They are probably too big for fine powder tea but work OK for leaf tea.

Best filter ever!
I've been traveling for the past month and got tired of going out for coffee every morning. I tried using my stainless tea infuser but it's just not good for coffee. I saw this glass straw "filter" on Amazon and thought it might work for coffee. OMG it's wonderful! I'm assuming it works well for tea but for coffee it's perfect! I really, really thought I'd end up with a mouth full of coffee grounds but this little thing kept all but the wonderful tasting liquid in the cup! I was so impressed I had two cups of coffee today just for the fun of using it! Tomorrow I will use it for my afternoon tea (for which I am sure it will work perfectly). I highly recommend this for coffee for sure and will say tea too as I can't imagine it not working! I love it!

Great solution for braces-wearing tea drinker
I recently spent 2 hours at the dentist getting the tea stains scrubbed off my teeth, around my braces. The dentist suggested limiting my tea, or drinking through a straw. I found this product and tried it, and I am enjoying my hot tea again. I like that the end is crimped. One of the other reviewers mentioned that the inside of the straw is hard to clean, but I found it to be really easy with a pipe cleaner (chenille stem) and some dish soap. I use a tea bag; tried it with loose tea and some smaller particles slipped through. Not a big deal, since I prefer bagged tea anyway.

Nice glass straw
Filters well and plenty long, well built straw.Only weird bit is the tip is squished down. It's probably for flow regulation. It'll probably be hard to clean the inside. I haven't needed to do anything more than run some hot water through it though.

Killer
Ordered two of these and they are great. Wonderful for kids especially. Just heat up some boiling water, throw your herbs in, and presto. Much better suited for a quick cup of tea when you don't want to whip out the entire shebang for the whole family. Fragile yes (of 2, one was broken during shipping and was replaced immediately by the company), but it's a great conversation piece, and as said, the kids will LOVE to drink tea w/honey more than before. (This is a plus).. Very nifty item. Congrats to the company.

breaks very easily
It broke within 2 weeks and a handful of uses. Its a great idea, but its just too delicate. I would not buy again.

Nice for tea, but not yerba.
A lovely product, but not useable for drinking yerba from a mate'. Too bad. i think the holes need to be bigger for that. The company was very kind to us in returns.
