Excellent replacement shocks
This is for KYB KG5517 Gas-A-Just shocks but I assume also it would apply to any Gas-A-Just shocks.I purchased these shocks for a 1990 Daihatsu Rocky, which is a somewhat rare vehicle in the USA, making it hard but not impossible to find parts. In the past I have purchased cheap shocks on ebay or other sites hoping to get good quality, but ended up disappointed. So I thought I would take the high road and buy some shocks with a solid brand name (I never heard of any problems with KYBs) and with a slightly better than standard rating/set of features. These are monotube shocks which are apparently better at providing a good solid ride without compromising stiffness. Made in Japan.I could tell immediately when I put these shocks on my vehicle how good they were. Bumps along the road in the city get absorbed well and don't feel like jolts. Although this rig is bouncy and jittery in general, the KYBs make it feel and handle like a brand new rig even though I have 177k on the odometer. On the highway, there is less tire bounce and all that comes through is a smooth ride.I would recommend these to anyone and I am considering them for the rear axle of my Dually Crew Cab Pickup, which exhibits a tire bounce at about 45 mph with cheap shocks that are only a few years old.Turns out on the Daihatsu, the original shocks were KYB also, and these shocks fit exactly the same as the originals. I think this is about as close as you could get to the factory setup without trying to find NOS parts.

great smooth ride
I had purchased these in the past for a Datsun 620 and loved em. I purchased these for a 68 mustang but unfortunately have yet to get her running. based off the Datsun tho these were great shocks especially for the price

Stiff shocks
Installed in 1965 mustang. They fit and provide a really stiff ride. This works for me because the car handles great but doesnt provide the smoothest ride. I am giving 4 stars because they were difficult to install. The banding holding the shock together covered both threaded ends so had to be removed to install washers and bushings. Then the shock had to be re-compressed and a rope installed to hold it together (the banding could not be re-used because it could not be removed once the shock was re-installed and the band cut) Once the shock was installed, the rope could be cut and pulled out from each end. Be aware that these open up instantly once the band is removed and it takes two people to re-compress them (one to compress, one to install the rope)

Just as stated! Work great!

These suck
Let’s just say, I’ve rode in armored personnel carriers that had a softer ride than these. Save your self the trouble unless you happen to like a shock that hammers the kidneys out of your back side….

Seems good
I replaced all 4 stock shocks on my 1992 Daihatsu Rocky based on the thought that a 28 year old vehicle with over 100,000 miles was due for replacements. It's hard to say I can tell much difference with the way it handles with the way it's used. No serious off road just normal local paved road trips.

Stripped out at factory torq settings, but replacement set worked
I installed these on the rear of my 1969 Ford Mustang, but I haven't had a chance to drive it yet. However, I did have some issues with the initial set I received. While attempting to tighten the nuts to the factory torq specs, the threads stripped out on both shocks. I returned the shocks with absolutely no hassle from Amazon and order a new pair, which I installed using a lower torq. So far, so good. Looking forward to testing these on the road.

Like it!
These rear shocks really improved ride quality on my 67 Fairlane. They also raised the rear end 3/4". The old shocks were dead and flat. Great price too!
