I bought this for my mom who is hard of hearing, has poor eyesight, and is not very adept with electronics.So far, this phone is great.The amplified sound is loud and clear - very little noise.The level of amplification through the handset is as loud as common speakerphones - so when she is using the phone I can clearly hear the other party speaking!It is also very easy to use. I was specifically looking for a phone that had no buttons on the handset - like a traditional phone.This ruled out all cordless phones. (She would accidentally push buttons on their old cordless phone without realizing it, and would frequently hang up on people because of this).Dialing using the quick dial buttons is easy: Pick up the receiver and push the quick dial button.That's it.Perfect.It has a switch on the bottom to enable amplification by default - so you don't have to turn on the amplifier each time you use the phone - it stays as loud as you last set it.Programming the quick dial buttons is very easy, though it could be improved.If you follow the simple instructions, it works, but there is no audible feedback while you are doing it. A simple beep or flashing light as a confirmation would be nice.I set the ringer to its lowest possible setting - and it is still quite loud.It is deafeningly loud if you set it on high.I didn't see a way to turn the ringer off entirely - that would be nice - or at least turn it down to the level of an ordinary phone.

I bought phone and after one hour I just could not get nothing except amplified noise. Nothing from DIGITAL sound nothing from CLEAR sound. Very bad product. I have 15 year old AT&T have crystal clear sound comparing with this new one

It really works. I bought this phone for my 76 year old extremely hard of hearing mother. It works great. She can now hear when talking on the telephone and the ringer is loud enough that she can hear the phone ring. Great purchase.

I purchased this for my parents who are very old and have difficulty with hearing conversations on a phone. This has worked out very nicely for them.

Worked beautifully at first then just went kapoot. Disappointed.

Sound was screechy when turned up to much, easy to go into setup and looses settings. But sofar, it has kept working where others haven't.

I bought this for a person who has always had trouble hearing on the phone...didn't make a difference if the phone was amplified or not or how much it cost. After installing this phone, no more hearing problems! Sound quality is good and I can hear the person on the other end of the phone from across the room! The amplification feature can be turned off for those with normal hearing, and another nice feature is single button calling...great for those long distance numbers or frequently dialed ones. The only problem that I found was when the numbers are programmed for the single button calling, there is nothing that indicates that the number is being entered...no digital readout, no beeps, no nothing. The only thing you can do is program the number in and try it to see if it works...isn't that better than texting anyhow???

I love my phone. It's very loud to people who have normal hearing, however. Flashes when ringing so you have a visible indicator which is nice but the ring itself is pretty loud, too. Great customer service.
