This is a very special pen for a very special person. I bought it for my father for his 84th birthday. It is the 3rd one he has owned - having lost the other 2 over the years. He was pining for it and was tickled pink to receive this gift. It is a handsome black with real gold trim and smooth mechanical action to expose the writing point. The top of the pen has the signature "mont blanc" (white mountain)embedded. My father says that he writes better with it and feels more authoritative signing things with it. Whatever makes him happy makes me happy!

I am convinced this is an authentic Montblanc. However it does not come with the normal looking credentials. It does come with the correct box but the small pamphlet does not show the serial number.. however it does come with some small tags, that do match the serial number on the collar. Also, when you look under the clip there is no "PIX" inscribed. This leads me to believe this is an older pen. That doesn't bother me. I just want the quality of Montblanc. I did the penlight test and the casing had a red glow. My main test was to put the pen under a stereo microscope and look at the engraving... It was clear and crisp. This model is a ball point, so it's hard to talk about feel... however, the writing is smooth and the pen feels good in the hand and is well balanced. I love it.

I purchased this pen as a gift for someone who admires my pens from a distance. This is a very sophisticated writing instrument, and this particular pen is very masculine, definitely a man's pen. Great value for the money, and this Amazon seller was very attentive and excellent to work with. If you have the opportunity or desire to acquire a pen of this magnitude, you won't regret it. It's very light weight, sleek and handsome. That person in your life who would love to own this pen but wouldn't spend that much money on themselves will greatly appreciate that you did. Would also make a very nice Father's Day gift for someone special.

The shipping was very fast, item came just as described, boxed and with all the relevant paperwork. This is a classic writing piece and seeing that it was for a 40th birthday present I was very impressed with the service I had having this pen sent to Australia.
