High Quality replacement
Perfect fit in the 2000 Mercury Grande Marquis gas tank. Since there is no drain valve on the tank, make sure that there is less than 1/2 tank of gas to avoid spilling gas when removing the old fuel pump assembly. It is possible to install the new pump without dropping the tank, but an automotive lift is the way to go. It`s not a simple job working over head, especially for old mechanics. This Bosch pump solved the problem of hard starting and low power acceleration. The Check Engine Light has gone out, the gas gauge works and all is well.

Not satisfied
Item did not work properly. Returned, and bought one from local auto parts store. Works fine. E-mailed ad auto about 4days ago but no answer. They did not refund all that I paid for the defective part. Beware! i had done some comparison test on the one ordered and the one I bought locally, and there was a big difference. BOsch specialist said this was not a true Bosch unit after giving him the numbers etc.

Bosch is a good brand.
Changed fuel pump out on a 2000 Lincoln town car without pulling the tank. Bosch pump installed fairly easy and worked great so far. 👍

but thankfully it is soft enough to easily bend without breaking anything
The 90ish degree bend on mine was closer to 60 degrees and wouldnt fit in the tank of my 99 Town Car, but thankfully it is soft enough to easily bend without breaking anything. Works great. Pump is not very quiet though. Also, if you are putting this in a similar-gen Town Car/Merc/Crown Vic, you do NOT need to drop the gas tank or cut/splice any wires. Youtube is your friend, and so is 50skid on youtube. Video ID 8VTpM6XIHko. Trust me, I just did it, super simple to do without dropping the tank, you just have to jack up the car by the frame so the rear axle can sag down out of the way, and if you have a tailpipe (I dont) it will need to be pulled off to the side somehow.

I don't think this is genuine BOSCH
I purchased this because the OEM part is a Bosch part. Upon arrival, it arrived in an Amazon box, no BOSCH box or anything, the two plastic tangs that hold the rotating part that the float arm snaps onto keeps popping out of the tangs and the contact arm loses contact with the resistance board. This is not going to work. On top of that it has two Bosch stickers slapped on the top and I have the feeling this isn't genuine. The pump even looks cheaply made.

Good so far
I was apprehensive in purchasing this fuel pump as it was what was in the car originally and the fuel gauge did not work when I purchased the car. I bought the car on Halloween of 2014 and the fuel gauge showed CO on the digital gauge from the that time until about three weeks ago. That apparently is a code for circuit open. I tried to replace the the sending unit first, but found that it is not compatible with the Bosch pumps. I then decided to replace the whole pump, and did not want to spend $300.00 or more for the Ford pump. One review states that when he replaced the pump the fuel gauge didn't work, and I was concerned that this could be an issue. I replaced the pump and it has worked flawlessly so far and it solved the sending unit problem. This went on a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis, and from what I have read some cars had Bosch pumps and some had Motorcraft pumps. I hopes this helps people in the future.

Nice OE quality part
Many of the Ford C/V's used this Bosch unit as the OE pump. The one I purchased replaces a Chinese Airtex that was leaking through the wiring loom that the customer had someone else install a couple of years earlier. Well worth a little more for this unit.

Low Fuel Pressure/May Not Be Genuine
98 Grand Marquis. Old fuel pump would cause a slight lean knock(low fuel pressure) and sender leaked. Now the fuel pressure is lower than a 25yr old pump. The pressure nose dives all the way down to 15psi. This part# should maintain 35-40psi. I ALREADY TESTED THE REGULATOR
