"He was perfectly imperfect. Flawlessly flawed. Most importantly—he was Vicious."
This book was PERFECTION. No matter how much I praise the book, it won't be enough. Baron Vicious Spencer was a top grade bully but I simply loved him with all his faults. He is definitely one of my favourite book boyfriends."I thought I’d escaped him. I was even stupid enough to think he’d forgotten I ever existed. But when he came back, he hit harder than I ever thought possible. And just like a domino—I fell."Vicious and Emilia meet in highschool because Emilia's parents moved her and her sister Rosie (who had cystic fibrosis) from Virginia to Todos Santos for a job at Vicious's house. Her parents were the hired help who worked for his father and he literally called Emilia"Help.""Emilia wore her weird personality like a billboard, proud and loud. From the way she dressed to how she was always covered in paint and doodled cherry blossoms everywhere."The above quote itself describes Emilia perfectly. She was an artist who had an obsession with cherry blossoms, with a wierd sense of dressing and a lot of sass and strength. The way she handled Vicious and his taunts was so amusing. She literally gave it back to him and never backed down. That's what made their banters funny and entertaining."She was mine again the minute I saw her in her next-to-nothing outfit. She just didn’t know it yet."Vicious was such an arrogant and rude rich boy but then we see that there's more to his entitled and difficult persona than we had imagined. He was literally so lonely and sad, that made me ache for him. He deserved to get his fair share of happiness and a family that he was depraved of and I'm glad he found that person in Emilia."She was a fantasy, and like all fantasies, she was meant to be savored, cherished, and treated with caution and respect."I hated him at first but after rereading this story so many times, I just couldn't help but love him because no matter how many mistakes he made with Emilia, in the end he grovelled hard for it. So far, he has the best redemption arc compared to the books that I have come across."I now absolutely hated myself for doing this to him. But still, I did it. Because protecting my heart over his had become my priority. No matter what Vicious felt for me, I knew exactly how I felt about him. And I didn’t hate him. Not by a long shot."So, Vicious does something really vile to break up Emilia and one of his best friends, Dean when they started dating in highschool and he just couldn't handle it. Fast forward some years later, Vicious has started a company with his three friends- Trent, Jamie & Dean and together they were called the "Four Hot Holes". Vicious became a lawyer and stumbles upon Emilia working as a waitress in a restaurant in New York. He somewhat feels bad about her situation (which she got herself into because of him.) But he also had a revenge plan against his step mother in which he needed Emilia's help. So, he offers her to work as his PA, from there the story picks up pace and we also get to know what happened in the past that caused Vicious to be the way he is. Once I got to know about his story, I was a goner for this man lol! Vicious in hate was amusing but Vicious in love was a sight to behold. He was in love with Emilia all along and somewhere along the way, I'm glad that he opened his eyes and saw what he really needed was right there in front of his eyes. The Dean & Rosie storyline has intruged me a lot and I would love to see them together despite their circumstances tbh. Overall, I loved the book. The writing was as usual fabulous and captivating and the characters were flawed yet raw and real. The chemistry, angst, tension and character depth were portrayed perfectly! I would definitely recommend giving this one a try.

I love Vic and Emilia. Their story is my favourite.
I have re-read VICIOUS and completed it today and fallen for him again.Oh wait Rosie warned me "Don't fall in love with him again" but I did.Oh Vic.Vicious book is first book in the series of Sinners of saint. It's a slow churning hate to love between Vicious and waitress turned Emilia . Emilia's parents are hired as servants in Vic's estate and both Emilia and Vicious are in same high school. She stirs something in the son of estate. Emilia was Vicious' best friend's gf too. While her heart secretly beats for him (ViC) even when he bullied her and made her life hell during their high school years. (AGE 17 -18).Even as he is somewhat protective and possessive. She is his to torment and he makes it known. When Emilia begins dating one of his closest friends, Vicious steps it up a notch. He is outraged at the defiance of Emilia and Dean, used to being in control of everyone and everything around him. Emilia is essentially ran out of town by Vicious and doesn't see him again until their paths cross again a decade later.Baron Vicious Spencer is a hot, angry, cold - hearted, and a bully. He is one of the FHH. And, CEO of one of the branch of FHH. (You guys will know what FHH stands for in book)./No spoiler.Emilia is a proud, simple, beautiful, selfless and a good hearted 'Goody Two Shoes' girl with self respect. She is an artist and bullied by Vicious.VICIOUS and EMILIA are of same age. So, there isn't any age gap. She is a great lead and a fighter. Vicious has reason to be what he is. They call him VICIOUS for a reason after all. He has a past story which was really deep. When a decade later (Age 27-28) their paths crossed again story takes a turn and Vicious is intent on picking up where they left. What I think??Well vicious was a fantastic read for me. This was also my first book By LJ Shen a year ago and then I became her fan. And, now after almost an year I read the book again. (And fell again I should say)First book of this kind. I didn't even know that there are these kind of hot , angsty romance novels too and now I love only hate to love stories specially with anti heroes. And, I loved the PEN - PAL part. Those letters of PINK AND BLACK.It's an amazing story with Amazing characters to fall for.

Love/hate relationship
I listened to the audiobook of the book and it was quite a fast and interesting story. Emilia and Vicious are a true pair of hate/love relationships. There was so much depth to their relationship without being in any relationship. I liked Emilia and her personality of all sunshine and cherry blossom happiness. Her character is so much the opposite of her life which is full of darkness. Vicious is the reason for the problems known to Emilia but deep down he has a little softness for her and only her. His redemption was the best part other than their banter. The story ended in a sweet way.

Vicious. Is. Everything.
I loved this book, honestly, it has the perfect amount of all the right things for me.I loved discovering L.J. Shen's work through this book, you are hooked from page one and around 10% into this book you are already madly invested in this couple and this universe.Millie and Vicious are soulmates and you can't deny that (not even at the beginning of the book). You may even wish that life had been easy for them, but they end up where they were supposed to be, next to each other.vicious is morally gray, a walking red flag and you still wish this man well because you know the broken boy inside him deserves it.Millie is a fierce woman who inspires you with her strength and her beautiful heart. You can't help but love and wish you were her friend. All in all, it was an amazing read that I highly recommend!

Vicious !!!! 🖤
I've read Vicious back in 2020, it was my second LJ Shen book (after Defy) and to this day, Vicious stays at the top of my favorites!! 🖤I picked up this book because I saw Angry Gods was being released, and I wanted to read it, so I started at the beginning of the Sinners of Saint! and let me tell you, I never looked back!! I miss Todos Santos and its inhabitants like they are real persons!I've since read the whole series, and All Saints High, and Boston Belles and I've loved them. But Vicious will always have a special place in my heart.LJ Shen has seen become a one click author for me, no matter what.

The villain I hate to love
I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've read this book dozens of times. I hadn't left a review because I first read it before I bothered to take the time to write them on Amazon, but believe me when I say that this book has a firm place on my very small and selective Favourites folder on my Kindle. On paper, this book's hero, or antihero in Vicious' case, is everything I hate in a male, but somehow L.J. Shen manages to weave her magic and have me worshiping the ground he walks on. Vicious is a cold, nasty, entitled, broody, arrogant piece of work. After mistakenly assuming that Amelia has heard something she actually hadn't during their time together at High School, Vicious goes out of his way to make her life a living hell. Amelia's parents work and live at Vicious' mansion, struggling to make ends meet. Amelia herself is a bit of a doormat due to her friendly, kind personality. She mostly puts up with Vicious' treatment, not understanding why he goes out of his way to torment her. And torment her he does. As the king of his elitist school, Vicious is on top of the world and when Amelia starts dating one of his best friends, it causes a rift in his tightly formed 'Hotholes' group - the four friends that are gods at their high school and whom the Sinners of Saint book series is based on.So if Vicious is so horrid, why do I love him? Well, I blame the author :) Shen has created a character that, while being almost unlovable, shows us glimpses of humanity and actually makes the reader invested in his life and happiness. Don't get me wrong. This is not one of those tropes (or as I like to call them, drivel) where the alpha is cold but secretly has a heart of gold. Vicious doesn't. He's a self-confessed tin man who disdainfully and condescendingly reigns over everyone in that way that only someone with a high opinion of themselves who was born into wealth can have. So again, why do I love him? Because even while he's being nasty, his soft spot is for Amelia only and his heart was always hers, even when he didn't know if himself. To paraphrase Vicious, he loved her even when he hated her.Vicious forces Amelia to leave town, still not coping with her seeing his friend. Move along eight or so years and their paths cross again by chance in New York where she is living pay to pay (barely) while supporting her ill sister. Vicious sees an opportunity to use her in his plan to enact revenge against his step-mother and from there we're taken on an emotional rollercoaster as Amelia and Vicious' relationship moves from roaring flames to crashing and burning. This book is so well written and is classic L.J. Shen. There's a strong antihero, a softer, likeable heroine and a worldwind of emotions that has the reader not knowing what direction they're being taken in. Vicious is also special because we get to experience this from their time in high school to their adult years through flashbacks and both POVs. The ending isn't entirely plausible, but honestly, I couldn't care less because the book is so good.If you're a fan of this author, you'll love this book. If you're not, then you should be. Our hero/villain doesn't pretend to be perfect or something he's not and makes no apologies. He doesn't try to change, but puts himself emotionally on the line to get the girl he can't live without. It's not your typical romance, but it's a cracker all the same. I love it and will continue to read this book dozens of times because it is perfection.
