A weird mixture of outcomes
I have a subscription for another oat milk as I need to avoid going into shops as much as possible. As I’m having difficulty getting a regular supply, I thought I’d look for an alternative barista option as for me, regular oat milk isn’t good for coffee.I have just been given an electric heater/foamer as an early Christmas present and used the last of my Oatly to try it out, which worked brilliantly! Gorgeous espresso made using the oatly milk and coffee pod espresso.I tried this brand later as I hadn’t received the subscription order, (not in stock). I noticed it was much thinner than my usual brand and did have a less pleasant smell. Not horrible , just a bit odd compared to the other oat milk. However, it foamed up well and I was really hopeful that I had found a good substitute.Unfortunately, for some reason, after being heated and frothed, there was a very unpleasant aftertaste and I had to abandon my drink! I have tried this in tea and cereal and found it an ok substitution but I will definitely avoid heating and frothing because it became so unpleasant. This is a pity because the whole point of buying ‘barista’ oat milk is for frothy coffee!

Good
Have been testing various Oat milks to compare, this made it into top 5.Has a high Oat content level, 14%, better than many. Gives it good body and taste. Froth well for use in Coffee etc.Only four star because it is not organic nor made in UK, few are. Otherwise a good product.

Great product
One of the best oat milks we’ve tried. Good depth of flavour. Foams well and doesn’t separate in coffee.

Creamy for Smoothies but Not Brilliant for Coffee
When I first tried a sip of this oat drink I thought it is delicious. I immediately wanted to try it to make protein smoothies and coffee. Now I can say that this oat drink works well for cold drinks but it did not impress me when used for hot drinks like coffee or even tea. This oat drink worked really well for my cold protein smoothie. I usually use the blender to make various smoothies or milkshakes. I noticed that the texture of my protein smoothie became creamier when using this oat drink which was a pleasant surprise to me.When using this oat drink to make berries smoothies/bowls I managed to achieve the texture of soup easier than with cow’s milk or usual oat drinks I buy in the supermarkets. This is also a lovely outcome for me.However, I was not equally impressed with this oat milk when using it for my coffee or tea. I do not have a milk steamer so I simply heat the milk in the microwave and use it for coffee. I noticed a quite unpleasant aftertaste of this oat drink after heating it up and it ruined my drink completely. This aftertaste was not noticeable when I used this oat drink in my tea (as I pour cold milk or milk alternative in my tea). Nevertheless, I still did not enjoy it the same as I enjoy cow’s milk in my cup of tea.Overall, this oat drink is a great milk alternative for cold drinks, such as smoothies or milkshakes. However, it did not work that well for my coffee and tea.

A mixed bag. Surprisingly not too good heated up.
I've had a few oat milk drinks, and each one has a subtle difference in flavour that you soon get used to. In each case they were effectively a milk substitute, but compared to my usual skimmed milk, taste more like full fat. However this oat drink didn't quite make the grade. It's ok on cereal and added to tea (once you get used to the flavour). I don't take milk in coffee. It's really good with protein shakes, and makes them much thicker than water or cow's milk does. I even tried it on a vegan shake and it worked well.Making a bowl of porridge however didn't have such a pleasant experience. The milk tasted a bit 'off' after heating - not bad, just a lot different from when it's cold. The same was true when tried in milkshake, but slightly lessened from the chocolate flavour.I think you'll certainly have to try a few of these to get used to the taste, especially once heated. It's OK if heated gently, but anything close to cooking it and it's a very acquired taste indeed.

Make Milk-Free creamy Latte’s!
As a lactose intolerant, often times I feel left out when I see everyone enjoying a dairy packed creamy latte which I can’t get my hands on. Thankfully, Tree of Life have created a Barista Oat drink that will create the same effect Milk would, though ofcourse without the milk and with an oaty rich taste. When pouring into a latte and after a few stirs, I immediately could see a nice layer of foam form at the top of the drinks and this foamy layer was creamy and soft to the touch. It added a nice slightly bitter yet oaty taste and texture to my drunk that I was quite fond of. Simply to reduce this biter, try adding some sugar/sugar alternative (ie: algarve syrup) to sweeten things up a tad. Overall, price and quality is in line with competitors, would recommend! ;)

Too sweet for my taste
I have been eating according to keto levels of carbs for over two years and I hoped this would be usable if I was careful with portion control. But it is too watery for my tastes to have in coffee - I have become used to coffee either black or with double cream and unsweetened so I was taken aback at how sweet this oat drink tasted to my tastebuds.Luckily my husband isn't on keto and he likes drinking this by the glassful so it won't go to waste.I would have preferred a less sweet milk alternative. Though I suppose now I am used to it any alternative for me needs to compete with double cream rather than milk.I think if you are used to skimmed milk this will be a good swap for you.

Good Taste
Of all the plant milks, oat is probably my favourite for taste and to use in coffee. It has a creamy taste and texture that I find goes just right with a strong coffee made in my stove top espresso pot. As far as this being a "barista" version, I'm not so sure how different it really is to the standard type and I'm not really a cappuccino fan, so it makes no odd to me if it foams. What I do like and this IS really important is that there is no separation or curdlng when poured into really hot coffee. This used to be a real problem with plant milks, but this oat milk doesn't suffer from that problem.Thoroughly recommended.
