I bought these after reading "The Chemistry of Joy" which talks about the benefits of high doses of B6 and B12 for mood and depression. There were also recommended to me by a nutritionist. After taking this my energy levels noticeably increased. This really makes you feel more alive, and my nails grow twice as fast when I take this. I have to cut them every week vs. every two-three weeks, which shows that it really works on your whole body! Now I found this also to be the best multivitamin for when I'm working out. I used these for depression and working out with great results, in combination with Country Life Omega 3 Mood, 1000 mg of EPA/serving, 90 Softgels . The price and vitamin quantity are unbeatable. I bought three packs of the 90 Tablets "no iron added" for $6.67 (now it's $12.68 for 90 and $22.09 for 180, which is still a winner). Compared to Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men Multivitamins, 180-Count ($.31/serving at $18.94 for 60 servings), Alive ($.37/serving at $22.09 for 60 servings) has more of vitamins A, C, D, K, and B12, and the same of vitamins E and B6. Compared to GNC MEGA MEN Energy & Metabolism 90 Caplets Multivitamin ($.35/serving at $15.94 for 45 servings), Alive ($.37/serving at $22.09 for 60 servings) has more of vitamins A, C, D, E, and B12, the same of vitamins K and B6, and less of vitamin D (which is still 100% DV). Compared to Nature's Plus - Source Of Life Multi No Iron, 180 tablets (with Whole Food Concentrates, just like Alive) ($.85/serving at $38.29 for 45 servings), Alive ($.37/serving at $22.09 for 60 servings) has more of vitamins A, D, Niacin, B6, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Magnesium, Selenium, Copper, and the same of everything else. Compared to Pure Essence Lifeessence, Tablets, 240-Count ($.83/serving at $50 for 60 days) Highly recommended.

just to let everyone reading this know, i'm only reviewing the actual vitamin pill quality, not its effects (since i haven't taken them long enough to really say anything good or bad yet). i did a classic "test" to see if these Alive! multi-vitamins would really break down easily (meaning that it'll be easier for your body to digest/absorb). I took 1 vitamin pill and placed it in a glass of water and observed how long it took to dissolve and to what degree. i was impressed! within a few minutes of dropping the vitamin in water, i could see a few bubbles rising up to the surface and w/in 10 minutes i could see the exterior of the pill start to break off. now, it looks kind of gross as the pill is breaking down in the water, but that just means that it's easier for us to digest :]!! by 20 minutes the water at the bottom of the glass was tinted green from the vitamin and i could see particles of the pill everywhere in the glass. most of this vitamin really broke down fast w/in the 20-25 minutes that it's supposed to. if you're curious, i suggest you try this at home too to see how effective this vitamin is at breaking down (you can do this w/ ANY vitamin to see how it'll break down!). after watching it in water for 15 minutes, i was confident enough to finally take one, knowing that the company was truthful in its claim that these vitamins disintegrated quickly. after i've been on these Alive! multi-vitamins for long enough (a few weeks? a month?) i will come back and review the effects of the actual vitamin :] hopefully they work as well as others have said they do!!

I take slow-release iron because it has less side effects, so I searched for a multi-vitamin without iron. They're not easy to find, so when I discovered these, I decided to try them. I think they're great so far. I only take 2 per day because I can never remember to take 3. I haven't had any side effects, besides fluorescent yellow urine, which is a common side effect of vitamins. The price is good compared to other brands I researched. They also contain no artifical sweeteners or binders, which is great. I will definitely continue to buy these.

I love these multivitamins. Have used them for a good couple of years, now. I like using the capsules, even though, to get the full amount, you're supposed to take 6 a day. I usually don't take that many, maybe 4 a day. I like having the option to take less than the full amount, if I want. Sometimes, you don't want to take too much of something, at one time. And taking smaller doses throughout the day is more like what you would be getting from whole foods, so a lot more realistic for your body to absorb.

I have a serious love/hate relationship with these vitamins. I feel so much better now that I am taking them, the quality is great, the price is awesome but..... the smell (I seriously think it smells like nasal muscus) makes me fight to swallow them everyday. I still recommend them (I take mine with OJ) because it is worth it. But I do hope that they'll one day smell better.
