Worked perfectly for the job in hand.

Only used once seemed to work ok

Having past negative experiences with Plastic/Nylon 'zip-ties (exacerbated by incorrect grade of grease ie melting and seepage), I'm relieved at having greater access to a more tight and durable retaining-means. However infrequently I ever refit/replace said gaiter, I do strive to only use a High Melting Point (eg graphite) lubricant, degrease and silicon-seal the jointing surfaces. These precautions actually TOLERATED use of an inferior (eg nylon/plastic) band in one instance yet I couldn't welcome my purchase in question more.

The tool ie absolutely useless. Failed to tighten a cv boot clamp and snapped it on first use. Not suitable for smaller clamps as it requires a lot of spare material. Better results with pliers than with this 'tool', which goes to show.

Wher has this tool been all my life.This tool is absolutely brilliant for clamping CV boot's it gets the metal clamps so tight it's just like the factory had done it & so easy to operate glad I bought this little tool 10★

Whilst these tools were good value, both needed altering before they could be used!The one with the winder and cutter - the cutter handle was the wrong way round! It should be along the tool when the rounded bit of the cutter is uppermost, not sticking out in front. Undo the grub screw and put the handle in from the other side - see my pics.The crimping tool - you have to remove the centre bit, otherwise the pincers slide off the band before they compress it. You can always then flatten the 'ear' of the clamp with a hammer.To be honest, the easiest way to secure a CV joint clamp is with a good old fashioned jubilee clip. These are stronger and much easier to put on, especially if you are working with it still on the vehicle. Then all you need is a screwdriver and/or a small socket for tightening.

I replaced the inner CV joint on my subaru outback with out removing the drive shaft. The tool requires patience to use and you have to be careful to square everything up, but it allows you to get the bands tight and the cut off feature is spot on. works very well. If it is your first time do the outer smaller end first to warm up. the inner end is harder to do as there is less room to get a good angle.
