The specs for the spx3000-xt1 shows just a "foam cannon" versus the spx3000 specs shows a detergent tank. what is the difference in the two?

Foam cannon on the XT1 is kinda more geared for cleaning your car as you can connect up and shoot. The SPX3000 detergent tanks you can put a hardwood cleaner or concentrated ground cleaner in the detergent tank and then connect up a surface cleaner to your wand and dispense the solution to the tool. As opposed the XT1 hooks to the end of the wand, technically you could spray ground cleaner on the ground and then disconnect and then hook up your surface tool. But to me it's more or less for auto.

Does the foam lance that comes with the sun joe spx3000-xt1 xtream produce thick foam or do i need to buy a 3rd party 1.1mm orifice?

No the foam is weak. I'm also looking for a snow cannon. I've used this one for a few months. It's okay if it's just your car/small jobs. I detail and need more.

Does the soap for the foam canon need to be diluted or just fill it with pure soap?

It's up to you what concentration of soap you want to use. It can even be used neat.

Where can I buy a replacement electrical cord? (Not an extension cord.)

I would just buy a $5 replacement plug you wire in and a GFCI extension plug in as these brands never make the insides serviceable or the part available to buy for this work. Then use a good waterproof shrinkwrap (kind that advertises with glue inside) to permanently bond the two together. Or you can use good electrical tape but you have to be sure you did a tight and form fitting tape job to ensure water resistance. You will need the GFCI part for a tool made to work with water to make it safe, absolutely.
