Rust-Oleum 353091 Universal All Surface Metallic Spray Paint, 11 oz, Matte Gunmetal Gray

The cap color in the listing doesn't match the cap color in real life. I want to give a review about this red color tone bc there's always a question of how close the cap color is to the actual paint color, when buying spray paint. I was skeptical as to whether or not this red tone would turn out to be what I had envisioned for my wind spinner, and it isn't. I wanted a more cool color tone of red for my wind spinner, but this paint is actually a warm, dusty rust/maroon tone. This is the only tone of metallic red provided by Rust-Oleum, and I could ONLY find it on Amazon! Neither small or "big box" hardware stores carry Rust-Oleum's 'metallic' red on their shelves. Frustrating but not the end of the world.It truly is a pretty color, if it's what you want for your project.🙂 This paint lives up to the good quality provided by Rust-Oleum, and it sprays on smooth. I do like the spray nozzle design. It's so much more comfortable for my arthritic hands to use.🙃😅 Additionally, it can be stored with the little spray stopper placed back on it! Ingenious!! All that said, I rate this paint 5 stars!!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

UPDATE/EDITI contacted Rust-Oleum directly about the splattering issue. They responded quickly & are issuing me a refund. I continued to see if I could get the sprayer to spray smoothly and, after several attempts & a huge mess of paint all over my hand, I heard a little "pop" and a tiny cylindrical piece of plastic fell off the end of the nozzle. I cleaned off the nozzle AGAIN and it finally started spraying smoothly! For that reason, I have changed my rating from 1 star to 4 stars.It seems my initial suspicions were correct & there was a defect with the nozzle.There appears to be a defect with the sprayer/nozzle. This splattered & clumped on the first use. No amount of shaking or wiping the nozzle helped. At one point, paint started running all over my fingers. I have used Rust-Oleum spray paint to spray Crocs in the past without issue, but it had a different sprayer.

I used this after using 2x flat primer on a plastic set of drawers. It finished the project fantastically! Highly recommend as it is hard to find matte finish in such boutique colors.

Arrived in good condition. Nozzle is great, good mist, not too heavy spray. The coverage seems good. I did several light coats over a period of an hour. Durability will come much later.The nozzle trigger was a bit tiring to use long term and an after marked handle does not fit.I used the entire can on the metal sides of a park bench.

Nice paint and covers well. Functional issues with 1 can and it stopped working with over 3/4 left in can. Not enough to finish my project. Pfttt Rustoleum on your function but great paint.

Smooth finish and wonderful deep color

My go to for dead flat clear. I use it on wood when I don’t want it to look as if it has a clear coat but still want it paint sealed. Flat doesn’t shine looks great distressed top coat or anywhere else you want a flat finish.

Update: I contacted Rust-Oleum and they offered to send me some cans of paint but I declined as I didn't need any more. However, yesterday I received a refund for my purchase and that was nice.--------I expected better from a Rust-Oleum product.First this is not matte as it has a sheen to it. I could live with that but there were other problems and unfortunately it is not returnable.The paint kept coming out in sputters periodically so there are spots on my items that I didn't notice until I was finished spraying them. I followed the directions and I've spray painted many items in my house and haven't had this problem with Krylon, or for that matter the Rust-Oleum I've purchased at the big hardware store.Also, as I sprayed, paint kept sputtering or oozing out onto my fingers.When you touch the paint, it leaves a white ash look. Since where I will have these will not be touched, that's not an issue for me but you should know that.The finish looked awful. And do you know how I fixed it? With a can of Krylon matte black that cost less than this one did. The finish now looks so much better and it's a true matte.Really disappointed as I paid a little more for this 'farmhouse matte black' instead of purchasing the cheaper regular ol' matte black or just using the Krylon I had in the first place!Won't buy this one again and I wasted my money on this purchase.
