Japanese Puzzle Box, Wooden Brain-Teaser with Hidden Compartments, Fuji 10-Step 6in

This was a gift for my husband and he really enjoyed playing with it. He appreciates wood products and this puzzle was just perfect. The fit is tight even after numerous plays and thats a sign its very well made according to the woodworking hubby. The picture design is beautiful. Its got a fun amount of steps to open the box. I would recommend as its unique, beautiful, well made and pleasant amt of skills to open in a few minutes time. We had gotten another box very similiar in style, design, price and brand a month earlier yet this is one is a tighter fit so since its hand made, they might have different quirks. It seems both boxes had the same strategies and steps to open which was disappointing so if you reorder, get something not too similiar for a more fun challenge.

This is a beautiful little box! Even with the instructions it took me several minutes to open the 10 step box. This is not for young children as the box movements are very precise. The box is big enough for a gift card although it rests in the box at an angle. Overall, this is a beautiful, well made, fun little puzzle box! A fun way to give a gift card or other small gift.

I bought this puzzle box after seeing a PBS program on the Japanese artists who make these. It was a special way to give a gift card to someone who likes challenging puzzles and unique items.He tried to open it without the instructions which he was able to partially figure out. His spouse was so anxious to see what was inside that she finally got him to use the instructions. Otherwise I'm sure he would have kept going at it and ignore his other Christmas gifts that were still unopened.The box makes a nice display as well as a conversation piece. It was a hit in our family.

I am very impressed with this little wooden puzzle box. It's very well made, wood seems solid. It's much better than the other laser cut wooden puzzle boxes that are being sold. The picture instructions are clear (to me) but they must be followed to the T! When I was trying to go backwards, I overlooked a step and, probably like many other people, thought the box was stuck. However, I eventually found out I was missing a step and the box was not stuck! Just read it carefully and remember which step you're on!Super happy with this purchase, would definitely buy again. I think the other 20 or 30 step ones would be too crazy for an average person, this one was just right. :)

I bought 2 easy level Japanese wooden puzzle boxes as gifts. Both came together in 1 cardboard box but were both frozen shut no matter how much effort I gave them. Returning them for replacement was somewhat problematic, as my order queue allowed for return of both in the original packaging, but Amazon indicated they were only replacing one. BOTH replacements came, however, in plastic packaging, and thankfully worked well. I was pleased with the final outcome, but the process was frustrating.

I gifted this to my daughter and she loves it. I love the precision woodworking. It's a beautiful piece.

Incredibly sturdy, beautiful craftsmanship, real quality. The wood used to make it even smells beautifully. Great gift for anyone interested in puzzles or Japanese craft. Also makes a good fidget toy.
