This product is not waterproof. I bought five of these lights for a fountain. And out of the five three of them had water in them and did not function. I will not buy these again.

I now know to disassemble these immediately and put silicon on O ring, wire entry, and front glass gasket, that helps, but this is going to fail sooner or later. At the price and for the performance, still a fair to good outdoor light. Worthless for underwater use in pool or fountain. It just floats.

These lights worked fine in my landscaping... but I would never use them underwater. The picture is one opened light that illuminated a waterfall for about a year. It was not submerged but had water splashed at it regularly. Then it stopped working. The light had water in it, and when I opened it there was a puddle of water and a fair amount of rust. I have a few other lights and a couple have water as well, but the ones not splashed on regularly appear to be dry inside. Use them for regular landscape lighting if you wish... definitely not underwater.

so far, it's bright and water tight. Spliced it into my pond's 12 volt supply. Gives a nice, warmer white light that looks pleasing and not wacky blue white. seems well c9nstructed and will update if I see any reason to deduct stars. Good buy at a great price.

used in backyard waterfall. got hit by lightning twice. First time a quirk, second NOT BUYING AGAIN!

This unit was installed underwater in a pond. It worked well for about 6 weeks and then developed a leak, flooded, and failed. Taking it apart after the failure, it was clear that it was not well enough designed or constructed to withstand water for a long time. Suggest you look elsewhere. The connector wire, incidentally, was less than 11 inches.

This light provides great light in my pond, at a very reasonable cost. I bought a second light because I liked it so much. The only drawback is the short cord it comes with. A longer cord would have eliminated the need to splice an extension cable on to it. I guess this is done due to the unknown length that would be required.
