My finches had a nest in their cage. But after a few days they discovered this coconut nest/hut. They built a new nest in it right away! I did put the “pillow” or cushion in there and they took right to it. So 3 weeks after building this nest, they now have 6 babies. I would recommend this to anyone with a small bird. They used it and another hut for sleeping in at night and resting during the day. I believe they feel very safe in it.

I purchased this for my female parakeet to, hopefully, use as a nest. I placed my order on April 5th and it was delivered on April 6th. It’s very sturdy as it is a real coconut shell. My parakeets love to pick apart everything I put in their cage. They will have a hard time destroying this!! It came with a tiny blue fluffy pillow, similar to a cat bed. Neither one of my birds have gone in it yet, but they are slow to use anything new that’s put in the cage. It seems to be a good size for parakeets, but nothing bigger. I would definitely buy this again in the future and I do recommend it for small birds. It might be a little too small for a cockatiel or similar sized bird to a cockatiel.

I have had the coconut in my parakeets cage for over 2 years now, and it is by far one of their favorite things. Durability is awesome, and it is easy to clean. One important thing to be cautious of -- be careful with the chain that hangs from the coconut. My one parakeet, Peep, likes to sit on top of the coconut, and he got his foot caught in one of the little chains. Luckily I was able to free him without any damage to his foot/leg, but I'd I wasn't home he could have seriously injured himself. I actually removed the chain and attached it directly to the cage, and have not had any other problems since.

Both of my budgies love to swing on the little swing that is included and also love sleeping in the little coconut.

The picture displays a pink plush for inside the coconut which was a good idea being I have a girl parakeet . However the bed comes blue and that’s not what I wanted or would’ve paid for smh disappointing honestly
