The Complete Book of Food Counts, 9th Edition: The Book That Counts It All Review: mom loves this - got this for mom. she loves the book. informative for her use. Review: Print is a nice size and LOTS of different foods! - One of my favorite things about this book is that it doesn't try too hard. The author only lists a few details on each food–calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, cholesterol, sodium, and fiber–which leaves room for lots of food listings without having to resort to tiny print. This book list all kinds of foods, from basic ingredients like buckwheat flour and parsnips, to national brand prepackaged mixes and frozen entrees, to many chain and fast food restaurant foods, which was more than I expected. I just wanted a book with the basic foods, but the extras are a nice bonus. I keep it on my kitchen counter so I don't have to run to my computer every time I want to figure out the calorie counts of something like eggs. I'm glad I bought it. It was a good deal for the price.

So much information
This book is helping me stay on a carb restricted diet and keeping me as healthy as I can be. It is comprehensive and needed by many of us whether we want to admit it or not. I’m very happy with this purchase.

not worth the money
this book lists almost everything except the kitchen sink. But it concentrated on brand named products in the grocery store but not all of them. I never found a listing for fresh strawberries - everything else pertaining to strawberries but not fresh ones. It must have taken this author months and months to compile all this information but it is not what I am looking for. I have noticed I am not the only one having a problem trying to find a book that has calorie, carbs and sugar for foods. This book would be good for someone who bought food already prepared just open it, heat it and eat it. If that's what you are looking for then this book is for you.

Great Nutritional Resource!
Very well organized, thorough, helpful. Has a large variety of whole, processed, and restaurant generated foods with measurements. The book is 1 1/2” deep x 4 1/8” across x 6 3/4” tall. I added little sticky alphabet tabs to help me find things quicker. Well priced. Good value!!

Informative.
Packed full of excellent information. My only complaints is I wished it was in hardcover or stronger binding. As it is this paperback may not last long with frequent use before the spine cracks. I also wish she had added a catagory for sugar for each item. Other than that, it's well worth the price.

Excellent information. But for indian background many names are unknow. Decimal point written without a zeroto its left. For example 0.75 is written.,.75 zero omitted. Portion sizes not clea. But as a whole a superb work of reference material of immense valu. God Bless he.

I like the book because it covers all foods available in North America. The book counts everything the average North American person needs to know. Excellent book.
