ALEX Toys Simply Needlepoint Butterfly Kids Art and Craft Activity

I loved this needlework kit. I’m an adult and just wanted something easy and fun to work on. Because I have experience in needle work I knew how to use my thread wisely. If a child who had no experience used this kit they would RUN OUT OF THREAD. I’m sure that would be disappointing for them.

Nice knitting stuff for the beginners

In my opinion this is definitely a kit for an older child, ie 6 or 7. It takes patience to finish. It's a cute kit though.

I bought this kit for my 8 yr old grand daughter. I intend to guide her with it to introduce a first sewing project. I like how the image is printed in color on the plastic canvas. It also comes with a frame so the project is nicely finished up once completed. I like how a plastic needle and the yarns are all included.

I was hoping this would be just a little bit bigger. Overall, my kids enjoyed making it. But they wanted it to be bigger too. The instructions were pretty easy to follow, although we had some trouble threading the yarn. Once we figured that out though, it was pretty smooth sailing. I just wish it would have been bigger!

I like this brand of starter needlepoint much better than Sew Cute brand for these reasons: Alex uses double thread so a child doesn't have to cope with trying to keep the yarn in the needle as he sews; the needle is made out of plastic so it is safe and even a little bendable if needed; the plastic board has a good feel, not so rigid as Sew Cute and more open holes. The kit has enough yarn if you skip the outermost row around the perimeter. This is covered by the frame when completed. I bought this for my 6-year old grandson because he had shown an interest in the needlepoint I was working on. He loved it and so did I; we sat together all cozy and talked about our lives while he did the stitching and I supervised. He said he liked it as much as playing games on my iPad so that's a big plus.

My daughter (8) asked for a needlepointing project after watching me work on mine and after some googling, I stumbled on this series and gave it a try. I had to walk her through threading the needle (including tricks on keeping all the loose fibers together) and stick with her for a little while as she got used to the stitch patterns but she has now completed three of these and we are starting a more complex project soon.This is a hard plastic canvas with a big plastic needle (not sharp) and some acrylic yarn that is pre-cut. It also comes with a frame of sorts that has an indent in the top so it could easily be hung on a nail.Great and easy product

J'aime particulièrement les tapisseries d'Alex Toys parce qu'il y a suffisamment de fils pour terminer la tapisserie contrairement à d'autres produits qui n'en fournissent pas assez. La grosse aiguille aide les petites mains à bien la tenir et trouver le trou pour le fil. Facile à faire pour un débutant. Ma petite fille de 6 ans aime beaucoup ce passe temps. C'est le deuxième que j'achète et je le recommande.

È semplice e molto carino. Devo aiutare mia figlia, aiutarla ad eseguire correttamente i vari passaggi per cambio colore ecc ma è veramente simpatico. Ottimo passatempo. Aiuta i bimbi a dover essere lenti e pazienti....

Very easy for a 5 to 10 year old to do and the quality is excellent since it's Alex toys and the needle is plastic so that's the best part.
