8616-1P 8616 Super Thermal Grease II, 1.3 kg Tub

Works well for my needs. Goes on smoothly with a small knife or tiny spatula. You could put it in a syringe as well. It does give off a noticeable odor the first time or two it gets hot, but the smell goes away fairly quickly. If you are doing work for others you probably want to heat cycle it to get rid of the odor or at least inform the end user it’s ‘normal’ so they don’t think something is burning up.

I use this on diodes, SCR's and IGBT's when repairing variable frequency drives and have had zero problems or issues. It transfers heat better than the standard 3M heat compound that I used in the past so lower IGBT temps and less compound pump-out.

Good product. Use it when you need to put a heat-sink back onto a processor on a mother board.

I've bough MG Chemicals during three years, examples: Roxin Flux, Soldering Paste, and Thermal Paste. Always, I've received 60% of the product. I dissatisfied to know that the company maybe is doing a effort to save materials.

This is another bad thermal grease that ive bought. When I first opened it, all of the oil poured out. Trying to get the grease to come out was very hard. It's thick like concrete and barely spreadable. It goes on chunky style and it's very hard to get a uniform coating. Id highly recommend not buying this and going for a better brand. This was a lot of money wasted.

Beaucoup plus épais et plus difficile à étendre sur les micas et les transistors, mais l conduction est supérieure. Je mets une quantité suffisant pour le travail sur une surface dure (plastique) puis je mélange avant utilisation. Ce qui aide grandement. POur étendre, j'utilise une lame OLFA et je brosse en un coup ou deux la surface du transistor et du mica. Il faut se rappeler qu'une très mince couche uniforme (1mil environ) est plus que suffisante. La pâte ne doit pas déborder lors du serrage du transistor.

MG Chemicals 8616 looklike a very good product and do his job in term of thermal transfert, but (with a laptop / heatsink use) I had a chemical taste in mouth like with other product like the Artic MX-4, the HY510 thermal compund and other thermal pads I have tryed. I did try this one because I thought I was allergic to silicon based thermal compunds and this one has no silicon. I wouldn't advise someone to use this product at home because of the volatil chemicals but maybe It's only me and other humans can't feel it. In my case, I wouldlike to alert custommers of the danger using products like those ones in a long period or at home etc... (might cause headache or lungs troubles). Maybe companies that sell these products should make more tests "in situ" on sensitive humans before they sell it in mass.
