Amazing Face Reading: An Illustrated Encyclopedia for Reading Faces

This is one of those books that I frequently recommend to friends that I think might have an interest. It really helps you 'read people' better, not from paying attention to non-verbal cues--but just from...well...reading their faces. If I had kids, this would definitely be on a summer reading list for them in the high school age. For adults, it's good to have this on a reading list at any point in life.When it was first recommended to me that I read this book, I thought, 'What a crock. There is no way that there is any reason that there should be any kind of correlation with people's faces and what they are like.' I was wrong. Very wrong. I don't know if the correlation is a two way street--if who we are 'works its way' onto our face or if our face 'works its way' into who we are (or both).I also wouldn't suggest that the correlations presented in this book are always accurate. That said, they are accurate often enough to make this book very worth while. After years of reading and re-reading this book after my first encounter with it, I am consistently amazed that the correlations are more often accurate than dubious. What I have learned from this book has served me well, and I think it has helped me pay more attention to people and receive them more openly. We are all so very different, and cueing myself into the variety (which this book helps me do) seems to make me more human and receptive to others.Great book, interesting content, highly recommended at double the price.

I bought 3 Face Reading books at the same time recently and feel that "Amazing Face Reading" by Mac Fulfer, JD, is the best of the 3. For me, it is the best because it is presented so clearly with great face illustrations and clear concise descriptions. It's laid out like an encyclopedia - so easy to follow and to find what you are looking for. Further, it is a wealth of information, going beyond the basics and providing in depth studies. Of the other 2 books - "Wisdom of your Face" by Jean Haner, was the 2nd best and well written with good illustrations. The 3rd book "The Power of Face Reading" by Rose Rosetree, was the least useful because there were much fewer illustrations and the layout was not the easy read that the other 2 were. The Rosetree book felt "cluttered" to me. You will enjoy the "open, easy to study" style of "Amazing Face Reading".

Purchased this out of sheer curiosity and ended up being a very interesting read! Won't be looking at faces the same again... As an artist, this book can also serve to provide inspiration when creating characters using exaggerated features from this book.

This is a very well written/illustrated book. After attending one of Mac's seminars in Arkansas recently, I was intrigued to purchase the book.Of course, the lessons learned in this book are only as good as your preparation and practice; one should study this as one studies any new skill. This book gives you the tools to know people--quickly.FYI: You may also be interested in the "Personality Plus" by Littauer.

I purchased a couple of face reading books before I finally found this one and it's the closest I can get to the one I lost in one of my many moves! The illustrations are great as each one is matched up with brief and to-the-point descriptions. Love it! There are quite a few face reading books out there but I couldn't recommend this one highly enough! Don't waste your money on the others, sorry guys. Just tellin' it like it is. Pictures are worth a thousand words! You will never look at anyone the same again.

This book is a fun read. Over the years I have purchased several books on this subject. I find this one the most easy to understand and most comprehensive. Some of Mac's findings are different than those of other authors. His is based upon his own research and experience not just what is written by others. I now refer to this book first rather than my other books on the subject. The artwork is wonderful in explaining what to look for.

A good book for beginners to understand the world around them and human anatomy. However as a long term student of Chinese medicine on the subject at hand - I found descriptions on what something meant that did not take into account changes from aging in general. Most of us, once we reach a certain age, will gain jowls, or sagging eyelids or other accessories to our once youthful faces. These have deeper meanings and the generalizations that jowls meant a powerful person, or what lip lines meant on aging women just were trivial. However it is a good book to start with none the less. Those starting out will learn about proportions and how to "see" what features reveal. I do feel however that photographs would have been useful, instead of just drawn illustrations.

This is a well-written & insightful book which sheds light on the predispositions each of us are operating from. I have found it helpful in relating to my immediate and extended family as well as with friends and coworkers.

Book is amazing.It shows difference between knowledge of west countries.... justify why these countries have power....brain power

Ich habe dieses Buch als Tipp erhalten, hat meine Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Wer an dem Thema Physiognomie interessiert ist, erhält mit diesem Buch gute erste Einblicke - von dem wohl führenden Referenten auf diesem Gebiet.Trotz der englischen Spraye ist es sehr gut verständlich. Auf diesem Buch kann man aufbauen.
