Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Official Cookbook: Recipes from the Four Nations Review: Better than expected actually - Requires access to an Asian grocery store. But big fun for the avatar fan. Tows recipes well into the series and cuisine. Well done. Review: Delectable Recipes…or Deadly Fussiness? - First of all, no matter what I say after this about the actual recipes, it’s important to know that this book is a must-have for any ATLA fan due to the novelty factor alone. It’s full of great photos and fun character illustrations, and the descriptions before each dish, which are written from the points of view of our favorite ATLA friends, make this really fun to flip through. But, flipping through it is probably all I’ll be doing—at least for the time being. I really appreciate the obvious care that went into designing these recipes, but some of the ingredients are so specialized that they might be inaccessible to a lot of people. Most of the recipes are also so fussy that they’re totally impractical, which I understand; this isn’t called “20-Minute Avatar Meals for Busy Families.” If you’re one of those people who loves getting lost in the meditative bliss of fussing with a complicated recipe when you have the time, you’ll definitely enjoy trying your hand at these dishes. But if you’re a novice skilletbender, take things easy and maybe start with one of the drink recipes. Iroh would be delighted.

Great Recipes for an ATLA and Foodie Fan
It’s a little hard to find some specific ingredients for me but we have had success with every recipe we’ve done so far. My favorite thus far is the salmon jerky. Sokka knew his stuff! The writer(s) did an amazing job with these recipes. Would very much recommend this for those who like the show and also like to experiment with cooking.

Very VERY fun, but too timid.
The book is made well, and the recepies look great. Separating it into nations is SUPER fun, and they really did well with the themes. Even got an extra section I didn't expect, and a few paciluar recipes I REALLY didn't see coming (this is for you, unfried dough fans) But this is post war cook book, which is convenient for getting wheat into water tribe food (imported from the earth kingdom) I wish they had the courage to put more old "treditional" recepies in there. But that's a metter if personal taste, and even with my wishes so far it seems like a 5 stars cook book, perfect for any nerd cookbook collection!

Good addition to a geeks cookbook collection
Love the style and the format of the book. The only issue I have is on one of the recipes (kyoshi island stuffed apple donuts) the spiral binding goes right through some of the words and numbers for the ingredients. The other recipes are okay, very close to the binding, but readable. Going through the book it is broken up by which nation the food comes from e.i the water tribes, earth nation, fire nation, and the air nomads. It has fun blurbs form aang and the gang about the different nations. There is a separate section just for Uncle Iroh’s tea shop as well. Can’t wait to cook from it!
