It’s Shu! The compound itself gives volume to my hair! I appreciate the textured look that it adds and allows my thick hair to hold and follow its natural direction. It is evident the spray is of high quality ingredients as there are no lingering chemical smells and my hair hasn’t changed since I’ve been using it. As for the price point, it lasts a lot longer than I imagined it would. The spray comes out fierce and fast! Almost like a fire extinguisher, but I don’t mean this in a negative way as it’s working as designed. At first use, I thought, wow, I’ll blast through this can in a week! Great hold for your hair to start your day or a mid-day refresh!

Used as a texturing spray before blow drying, doesn’t work.

So if I could find a lotion that smelled like this, I would be buying it in gallon sized bottles. I can't say enough how much I love this smell. However... I like my hair to feel fairly natural after wave sprays, or slightly drier, like a little bit of salt spray. This one had my hair feeling super brittle - to the point where I ended up washing it the next day again because I just couldn't take how straw-like it was. I do have super thick and coarse hair so maybe that's part of the issue. 3 stars for the smell alone, but I won't be rebuying this.

The product itself seemed either defective or just always works completely differently than is described. Added nothing but brittleness and discomfort needing to be washed out as soon as possible. On top of that apparently you can't return this item and have to attempt to go through a replacement. "That's how the process works on the Amazon platform I was told." Interesting as I've bought thousands of items on Amazon and never had an issue with working out a return. Not sure what that solves if the product being sold is defective anyways..

I do not believe this product is authentic. It doesn’t have any instructions for use and it doesn’t smell like Shu Uemura products. Does not do anything to create waves.
