An instant classic
TS Eliot said, `Where is the Life we have lost in living / Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?' (`The Rock', 1934); Eliot's astute poetics couldn't be more appropriate in this digital age, not least within the ubiquitous field of Mind Body Spirit. On the face of it, this would appear to be yet another commentary expounding the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, adding to the ever-growing backlist of titles about the illustrious Indian sage; however, this is no ordinary edition, containing within it an introduction and original text edited by Oxford scholar, Arthur Osborne; a forward by Swiss psychotherapist, Carl Gustav Jung; and a preface by Alan Jacobs, President of the Sri Ramana Maharshi Foundation in London, making the book an exemplary volume, destined to become an instant classic. Moreover, the content focusses on the core elements of the Maharshi's message: The Basic Theory; From Theory to Practice; Life in the World; The Guru; Self-Enquiry; Other Methods; The Goal. With so many contemporary books on Advaita Vedanta concentrating either on the minutiae of theory or else disparaging theory altogether, `The Teachings of Ramana Maharshi' is a refreshing reminder that the path to Self knowledge is both simple and profound.Highly recommended.

THE TEACHINGS OF RAMANA MAHARSHI
This beautifully produced edition of The Teachings of Ramana Maharshi in His own words, and edited by the celebrated Oxford Scholar Arthur Osborne, who knew the Maharshi well, also has a Foreword by no less a personage than the great Carl.Jung who highly valued the Maharshi's Teaching, which as Eckhart Tolle says 'Points to the possibility of finding true happiness'. For those searching for Self Realisation and Liberation from the grim toil of mundane everyday life there can be no better book. An interesting Preface explains the continual great interest in the West as well as the East, of the Great Sage'sTeaching and refers to Somerset Maugham , Paul Brunton and other sources.. Highly recommended for all those seeking the ultimate Truth as taught by a foremost spiritual Teacher.

Deep ...
Not a vacation read for sure, read it when you are in the right frame of mind (peaceful). Do not read it as a novel - but read each of the interactions and spend time to introspect or think about what has been said. This will make the best use of this book.

A fresh and different route to answers for the questions which we have been asking to ourselfs for years.
This is the first book which I have read on Maharshi.Ramana Maharshi has an entirely different approach towards spirituality. None like anyone else. "Self" and "I" is the two most important expressions used by Maharshi."The individual being which identifies it's existence with that of the life in the physical body as 'I' is called the ego. The self, which is pure consciousness, has no ego sense about it"According to Maharshi self enquiry is the only way to the answers. It's all that it is need. Meditate on 'I'.. find its root.. there lies the answer.

Ramana Maharshi is definitely one of a kind!
This is a slow read. Not for the ones who’re just beginning their spiritual journey. Cuz Ramana Maharshi’s way of self-realisation (using this cuz it’s the term which is widely known) is very different. It is a lot to take in, I’m not gonna deny, as this book is more of a ‘question & answer’ type. So if you’re looking for a casual read, give it a pass. But if you really wanna get into his world of experiencing the self, or God, or the Universe in you, don’t miss this one!

Stops all spiritual search
In Jnani 📹, David Godman talks of how this book 📙 stopped all further spiritual 🔎 for him. As a fellow Snake 🐍 i can see whyA fantastic collection of anecdotes from sincere spiritual seekers is presented here and it's not difficult to be convinced that only the Self exists and the Universe 🌌 is just an appearance in That, a 3D projection. Our job is to the clear our underlying Self of all the junk that has accumulatedRamanachala also shows that he can't be tripped up by semantics, just like Ramesh Balsekar. That's the best thing about the Self-realized 👌As an aside, the pro-found book 📙 is very light in weight and i loved the way the capital R is written, very regal
