I have a big daddy kitty cat who has lost enough weight (much needed) to slip through the bars of our metal fence. So, I purchased the bumper and a second break away collar so it's ready to go anytime he wants to go out. (As a precaution, I don't snap the bumper shut so the whole thing can break away if needed). Kitty walks a little drunk with it on, but he puts up with it. He makes his way to the fence and attempts to slip through. But nope! The scene goes like this: Wiggle hind end to launch the escape > boink on the fence > reposition and wiggle > boink boink > pout > boink > walk away. Aside from making kitty sad and unattractive to his girlfriend, the bumper does what I wanted it to!Update: Kitty figured out how to break out of the collar/bumper. I think the bottom of the fence got caught in the bumper, kitty tugged to get free, and the collar/bumper came off. It was wrapped around the bottom of the fence, but kitty was gone. This certainly wouldn't happen to a pup, but was likely to happen with a break away collar. I'll still use it to slow the kitty down.

This item may cost a bit more than other puppy bumpers but well worth the cost. I have tried many different ones and these hold up the best. This puppy bumper is very durable and washes up beautifully. Does the job of keeping my small Dachshunds on the right side of the fence. The stiffer fabric does not allow them to manipulate their heads through the rungs of my wrought iron fence. I bought one in size small. My Dachshund weighs 10 pounds. Perfect. I also got one in size med (10-13 inches) for my very long and lean Dachshund who weighs 15 pounds but the small works better for her too. Her weight is all in her length. I have another Dachshund who is 15 pounds and too big to get through my fence. She does not need a puppy bumper. These still look like new after 10 months and several washings. Some of the others bumpers that I have bought, the fabric tears easily if there is running play in the backyard. No quality issues like that with these. Dachshunds though can be aggressive players, though so fabric type might not be an issue with a more laid back pup.

This a great product! Our dog (15lb mix) would Houdini his way out of our yard. We’ve tried paint sticks through his normal collar. No luck.He slips between the fence the slats, under the gate. We zip tied chicken wire to the aluminum fence all around our back yard.He figured how to side the chicken wire down to over it and get through the slats again (thanks to our Lab puppy), remote shock collar, garden edging in front of gate where he would get under the gate. Then figured that he could fit through the garden edging, had to chicken wire that!A friend tol is about this collar. This is a great product!!!!The reflective silver line around it helps us see him when he goes in the yard at night.He doesn’t mind wearing the collar all day or even night. We do take the collar off at night but leave it on during the day as he like to go in and out all day long.

This literally saved my dogs life. Keeps him from getting under the gate. I am VERY glad we bought it. His neck is 10”. This fits his neck exactly. So we just snap it on without threading a collar through it, however if your dogs neck is a little smaller or bigger than that, you can just thread a collar through the tabs on this and put it on him/her by snapping their collar closed. If the donut is a little too small just leave it unsnapped and use their collar to keep it on them. Once the collar is threaded through the multiple blacktabs/loops, it won’t slip out of them and you can just snap the collar closed. This is a lifesaver!!!!

They keep my teacup poodles in my fence. Have several of them.

Our Jack Russell rescue loves to exit our fence when anything moves on the other side!! After hunting her down over and over again, risking our safety and hers, the puppy bumper saved us! Cannot say enough good about it. I had to buy another one as a backup because we cannot live without it!!

Great! Keeps my little boys in the yard!

My puppy had no problem with this. She actually liked it and it was extremely comfortable for her. Kept her from biting her incision.
