Safer and easier to set.
These traps are much safer to set as the arm that catches the rat is bent up at 90 degrees so that your fingers are never in the travel of that arm if you accidentally set it off. It also makes it much easier and more sanitary to dispose of the rat once caught, because again, your fingers never touch the killing portion of the arm. There is a hole in each of the back corners of the trap that makes it easy to use a #12 sheet metal screw to attach a short piece of small chain so that you can screw the trap down so that a wounded rat can't drag it away. It would be nice if they came with some instructions on setting the trap as it occasionally is hard to lock into the set position. These are much easier and safer to use than traditional wooden traps which often warp, and being made out of plastic can easily be washed to be re-used over and over.

Not bad product
Not bad construction but thought price was slightly high. I was a pest control operator and paid less when I was in business.

It works. The rats are dead
Works well. Bait was stolen a couple of times, but I just laid it on the bait cup. Made it a bit harder to take and now they are gone. Really easy to use.

They simply don't work. Absolute garbage
This isn't my first rodeo with traps. These won't set and when they do they won't trip. It can take up to a dozen tries to get them to set and each time they don't the bait gets splattered and scattered. The ones I could get to set then wouldn't trip no matter what I did. There must be no quality control where they make these. Now I have to run around to return this garbage.

Fair quality
One trap broke while trying to set it for the first time! A decent mousetrap is so hard to find.

Humane and Efficient.
These traps worked extremely well. They are very humane and fortunately, the rodent died immediately. Even though rats are nasty, I still wanted it then to die humanely.

Impossible to set safely
If you can get these things to set then good luck, these traps have a design flaw, you cannot set these traps no matter how many times you try to make them work. It's difficult and dangerous to the consumer. When they do set, they set so light that they could snap on the user.

humane for the rodents, safe for my fingers
As it turns out, our new/old New England home has a modest mouse (not rat) problem in the attic. The harvest during our first winter here has kept me checking traps every time I head up there to put away a traveling dude's suitcase. Usually there's at least one, though we've turned the corner and are seeing fewer. After using a variety of means to control mice on other properties in recent year, we've come around to the old snap method as the most humane, which in a cruel world has come to matter to us.These Catchmaster (The Claw) Quick-Set traps are nothing if not humane. They're the strongest trap I've used. The most distinguishing feature for me is how easy they are to set. I put peanut butter in as my bait and, unlike with other traps I have used and continue using, I don't fear for my fingers as I do the nasty job. These are a good option for making a quick and painless end of mice and, presumably, of rats as well.
