Comet CF-4160J 1.3-170Mhz 350-540Mhz Duplexer

Great results with this diplexer. I have 2 XTL 2500 radios sharing the same Diamond X200a and it works great.

I checked this duplexer on my Vector Network Analyzer to see if it met the specifications listed and it looks very good.

For those wondering if you should buy this, for me I tried the MFJ-916B first and I had over 20% insertion loss on the UHF band. However, w/ the Comet CF-4160J, it was less the 8% on UHF which was way better. I'll be keeping the CF-4160J.

Using it as an external duplexer for my Arrow II antenna. Does exactly what it is supposed to do,build quality is solid and I expect to have many years of service from it.

This fit my application perfectly. It is not the cheapest or the most expensive but has better dB separation between the bands than most. This is very important when running 2 transmitters into one antenna.

Had to return this for a replacement. Hopefully the replacement is good.

Only so-so. When using I noticed that my radio that was receiving vhf would occasionally break squelch. It dawned on my later that it may be stray RF bleeding over from the uhf. To test this I disconnected this unit and the noise stopped. So while it works there does seem to be a design or QC issue. So possibly acceptable, but not for some
