There are six components to each snake. Each comes with a brass weighted tip attached to about 24” of paracord which is then stitched in the barrel snake fabric which is also about 24" in length. The fabric thickness and width changes for each caliber. The other four segments are a cleaner section, a brush section, a drying section and finally an oil section. You can find numerous videos online to instruct you on the proper techniques and products to use for this process.ConclusionI love the simplicity of the barrel snake system and design. They are relatively inexpensive so you can buy one for each caliber of firearm you have. I like the fact that you can clean the snakes to keep them in good condition for your next use (recommend placing them in a tight laundry sack for delicates before placing them in the washing machine). Bought five of them, one for every caliber I need. So far, they all work great. I still use a brass brush and patches to finish up, but these get quite a bit of stuff out and it speeds the whole process up quite a bit.

It does what I expected snake to do, I'm very happy.

Good product. Great price. I noticed no appreciable differences in either quality of construction or performance between this brand and some other name brands I've used. Big difference is that these are 30-50% cheaper, depending on the caliber. If you want to ditch the labeled plastic bags as I did, you can make a caliber/color chart to identify them as each caliber uses a different color material. Note: 4 of the 5 calibers I ordered were available stateside and arrived in 2 days. One was not and won't arrive till March. I missed this at checkout.

Constructed about 98% as good as the more expensive name brands but they still work great. Very cost effective. Great to give as gifts. I will buy again.

So I have looked for an inexpesive bore snake that is of high quality and works well.So looks like I have finally found it. The quality of this bore snake is excellent and cleans the barrel quickly.

ordered the on for my 270 and got the one for a 40 to 45 Cal. In addition I cannot return it. Guess I will make this a Christmas present for someone I know that has a gun Caliber of 40 to 45.

Works as advertised. This is an awesome rope cleaner that leaves your barrel spotless.
