Works as expected
Used it to clone a bootable M2 NVME to a larger M2 NVME on a motherboard with only one M2 slot.

SATA data cable clips face the PCB; cause undue stress and flex on the connectors
This device is what is says: Two M.2 SATA drives with their data connectors, powered by a single SATA power plug. Since it has two SATA data connectors, you can use the drives independently, JBOD, or RAID them as you wish; this item is not an implicit RAID 0 or RAID 1 controller -- it just provides a form factor for storing M.2 SATA drives in a relatively 2.5" HDD sized PCB. So far, it is exactly as advertised. The mediocre: The PCB is slightly larger than a 2.5" HDD, so you can't just expect to use it in such a setting. It does come with a rear IO shield so you can put it in a place on the chassis of an expansion card, which is nice, but it's awkward fitting in other areas that accommodate something more along the lines of a "regular" 2.5" drive. The bad: The SATA data connectors are situated such that in order to plug in SATA data cables, the clips holding the cables in are facing downwards, towards the PCB. This pushes the connectors away from the PCB, almost to the point that it feels like you're going to break off the soldered joints. It's such a bizarre design, that I wonder if mine was incorrectly manufactured. (I have not raised the issue with the seller.) It would make so much more sense if the connectors were flipped right side up, as that would put no stress on the PCB. I worried so much about the connectors flexing off the board that I took my SATA data cable and forcibly removed the metallic clips from the cable to reduce the amount of strain put on the connector joints. It helped quite a bit, but there's still an unnecessary amount of flex.

Cheap feeling/Fiddly to install the card/BUT....Inexpensive and it Works!
Very cheap feeling board...The "holes" for the screws to mount the board are ovals, not round, AND the female threaded "nut" that slips in from underneath and accepts the screw is slightly too long...SO you don't feel like the card is held securely.....Other than that, it worked instantly upon installation and turning on the power and booting up...Caveats:A. I am running an MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard, from 2013-2014..The M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 2 x 2...(You need Gen 3 x 4 lanes for best performance)B. Upon booting into Windows, I ran Samsung Magician and it stated that now my SSD is running at PCIe Gen 3 x 4! Which it did NOT when I had this card on the M.2 slot on the MB....C. I needed to format and re-configure the look-up table (old version: MBR or "Master Boot Record") to the new version, which is GPT...THIS allows you to use a UEFI bios, which allows you to run the card/drive at full speed and to boot from it...So, like 40 minutes in and so far, no BSOD errors or anything...!

As described, but...
It does it all. No complains. The only thing is the screw that is supposed to secure the SSD in place. It is wrongly machined and the SSD is a little bit loose. But it did an excellent job.

***It works***
Having an older home built desktop (circa 2012) this unit using an Intel 660p series 1 TB M.2, inserted into the M.2 slot, plugged right in to my lower PCIe slot (2.0x16) and after going into Disk Management, formatting and assigning a Drive letter worked exactly as advertised. CrystalDiskMark6 shows 1800+ Read with 1300+ Write speeds, which is phenomenal as it is the older type slot. I plan to use this as data storage and for the speed and prices it really is a good buy. Highly recommend for this purpose.

Very Easy to Set Up
I replaced a 256GB SanDisk X600 M.2 which was OEM in my Asus FX504 with a 1TB Silicon Power NVMe PCIe and had no use for the old drive until I found this Vantec enclosure. The X600 was super easy to install in the enclosure and is now used as secondary storage for my old Toshiba Satellite Radius. I had doubts about such a low-priced gadget, but this Vantec enclosure is well worth the price and functions beautifully. The enclosure I purchased will accept B-key only or B+M-key only, will not work with NVMe drives and provides a USB 3.0 interface. However, there are several configurations for this enclosure.

Works well, good speed too
My PC has only 1 M.2 port. Simply installed this adapter with my new 1TB SSD, cloned old 500GB SSD to new one. Turned off, swapped and rebooted, worked fine, reformatted old SSD, now installed on this adapater.

Saved my hide!
This product saved my butt! The motherboard connector for my M.2 NVMe SSD went bad on my Alienware PC back in December (just over a year of usage). This has been the first solution I've been able to find that will allow you to read off of a working M.2 NVMe SSD. All the others say in the fine print, doesn't work with NVMe. So this was a godsend. Was able to get my important documents and photos off to another drive (actually two, now that I'm backing everything up). Very grateful, worked like a charm!

Vantec M.2 NVMe SSD PCIe x4 Adapter Product Review
First the good, it worked with ASUS Z97 Deluxe, BIOs 2903 with Samsung NVMe 960 Pro 1TB installed in the Vantec Card. This card and NVMe is located in a spare PCIEX 16-2 slot for GPU. I am using only one graphics card in PCIEX 16-1 slot. Card Should be operating at x4 in PCIe x8 lane. Samsung NVMe 960 Pro 1TB has Window 10, x64, originally installed in the M.2 x 2 slot. Speed has almost tripled in the PCIe x 16 slot. Read 2224, 1787 Write, random read IOPS 291,426 write 205,770. Although the physical relocate of the NVMe from Motherboard M.2 to this card was relatively uneventful, I did have to boot into safe mode at first and Windows 10 seems to have installed the Samsung NVMe 2.3 driver and removed MS NME generic driver. Now the bad, unless, I bend the bracket, the header bracket does not match my case properly. The build quality of the board ok and I cannot give it a 10, maybe a 6. The hardware stand off do not work as a stand off. It just sits loose with the flat head screw clamping the NVMe board between the screw and stand off. This more or less allows the NVMe board to slide in and out of the header. A bit of electrical tape will provide better assurance that 1) the screw will not work loose and 2) the NVMe board will stay put inside the header.I have seen better products from Vantec before, but this is not one of them.

Works as expected. Speeds matched same as my nvme slot. Bit expensive though.
Works as expected.Speeds matched same as my nvme slot SSD.Bit expensive though.Box was opened and no hardware or screwdriver given by seller. It seems seller is removing all those parts before selling, as same feedback is given by other customers.

Works like a charm
Motherboard only came with one M2 slot. This little thingamabob allowed me to add another PCIE M2 slot and also a SATA M2 slot in one shot. Came with mounting screws and even a screw driver.Install took maybe 5 minutes and it works perfectly. Even has activity LED lights. Been running for a few weeks now with absolutely no issue.Only downside is that the mounting is a little off so the M2 cards are not perfectly flat. Not a big deal but may annoy some.If you need another M2 slot (either NVME or SATA or both) then this is a great way to do it.
