Love it
This thing is a beast. I'm honestly not sure what the difference is between the 22 ton, 25 ton, or 30 ton because they all look virtually the same to me. I put the biggest logs I could up to 30" across and this splitter slowed down on some, but never failed to make it through the logs. I would highly recommend this unit.

Great Splitter, works fast
Great machine! Works fast and easy to operate. Very strong frame and good quality construction. Oil fill locations for engine a bit hard to get to, butts up against hydraulic tank. Maybe the more expensive engine option is better thought out as far as engine access is concerned.Shipping crate is a disaster... arrived in pieces with the lid completely loose! Fortunately nothing was missing or damaged but they really need to improve the crate or find a better shipper!

Heavy duty machine
So far nice machine simple to assemble with the downloaded instructions and common sense. Few cons thought.....was missing the hydraulic reservoir cap/dip stick so when running the fluid spills out some and splatters out(been working with customer service about it but so far they sent me the wrong part). Biggest complaint thought is how you have to fill the engine oil, unless you flip the entire thing on end you'll never get any oil in the machine since the dip stick/oil fill caps are on the bottom side of the motor/machine. I ended up putting too much oil in since I didn't realize it had to be flipped like that at first. It has leaked something out but I am not sure what it is since I can't check the hydraulic level without the dip stick and can't check the oil without spilling the hydraulic fluid

Incredible!
I actually have the 25-ton Lowe's version with the Kohler engine, but I really don't think it makes a difference. This is an amazing splitter. As you can see, I have be able to easily split a 24" log. And I've put this through a lot of use. The wood pile shown is my second and that's a LOT of wood. (This is my second splitter and I will say that the first splitter developed hydraulic leaks around a couple of the fittings. I think it was due to assembly and not the product. I returned the first to Lowe's for a replacement.). This is the best thing since sliced bread. I could not have split all this wood by hand at all. At 61, there is only so much these tired bones can do anymore. I do recommend getting the generic cover for under $20–it fits perfectly. I also added the log catcher, which is not included with the one from Lowe’s—it’s really a must, as well.

Very nice!
Instructions for un-crating and then assembly were not included, but I downloaded them easily enough. Had it together in an hour. You NEED a long flexible funnel to fill the oil or fill it before assembly...This thing has been chewing thru all the wood I can give it. Easily change to vertical splitting for the large logs.Went thru 20" diameter, 24" long log with ease...

Dirty Hand Tools Made it Right
Purchased based off Positive reviews about 2 weeks ago. Finally warmed up in Wisconsin so yesterday was initial start-up day. Followed manufacturer's directions for start-up.... After a few pulls and some pops from the engine the pull rope was fraying real bad - after a few breaks and continuous pulls the rope finally let go. Took it down to the local small engine shop to get a replacement. Back at home a few more pulls and it fired right up. Ran the machine for about an hour kind of thru a break-in period - ran flawless. Shut down for the day by shutting off the fuel as instructed - Day 2 went and cut some wood to split and tried starting the machine and was popping but would not stay running and was spitting black liquid out the exhaust. Pulled the Oil fill plug and straight gas was pouring out of the crankcase. It happens to be a Sunday so I will check in with Dirty hand tools tomorrow and see what they can do. Will update this review when the machine is back up and running.******Increase in rating - Have been communicating with Dirty Hand Tools and they are being very Proactive in trying to resolve my issues - Bad engine. ***Would like to thank Dirty Hand Tools for the quick response to my problems. Sent a new engine to my local small engine shop and got the problem fixed without much delay. Would not recommend this splitter with the Loncin engine. DHT replaced with a Kohler and I now have 1 pull starts and a GREAT Splitter. Customer service outstanding!!!
