Yes, detailed instructions come with the unit.

Q: Are replacement blades available?

Yes, replacement parts and blades are available. Do you need one only or more? While they are in stock in the U,S., they are not sold by any retailer. If one only, we will send it free of charge. If so, please confirm your address for shipping. If more needed, we would need to find a better solution, like setting them up on Amazon.

Q: How does it do with sweet potatoes?

It works well with the flat blade (for shaving and curls) and the biggest (holes in the blades i.e. biggest diameter of the noodle cut) only, but too challenging with the smallest blade (holes and cuts), requiring too much pressure (strength) to go thru and, in turn, also posing a risk to break the handle (turning crank).
