The first part of the book about the IGBT physics is okay, but the second part of the book about application could have been better.It should had been put more effort in the chapter about gate drive and gate drive circuits. I also miss detailed discussion about snubber circuits.The price does not reflect the contents of the book.

Ridiculous
The first part of the book is greatly poor for a text book of hundreds pages which talk specifically about one electronic devices. The switching curves of the IGBT (on/off) are just like current up/down & potential down/up (btw as done on the basic physics text book). Nothing else. I personally find this ridiculous. All this was already in the more general text book from the same author “power semiconductor devices”. So no reasons to buy this book in addition. Other text books (Lutz or other books) show the dynamic behavior with Miller plateau, gate discharge, SCR formations and so on, which is a real physics explaination of what is going on in te device! Sorry for the author who has a very good speaking style (that’s what pushed me to buy this article), but I send back his book. Also: no physics or deeper details about real device sold by industries, just few poor sketches of few of them... The second part is a huge collection of devices vs application list (very shallow level too).
