I am very pleased with this kit, which includes everything that a DIY guitar owner needs for complete setup and maintenance. If you can't do what you need with this kit, you need to get a professional to do it. I am partway through two of my four guitars, which include acoustic 6 string, acoustic-electric 12 string, electric 6 string and acoustic-electric 6 string. These are tools that will do a good job. Just for kicks I went to the STEWMAC website to compare prices (recognizing that Stewmac makes the best quality guitar tools) and my best price comparison totaled $453. This kit was $70. With the $383 difference, you could - buy a guitar!

Unless you are a professional luthier, you don't need tools any fancier than these. In fact, fret leveling and crowning could be done well with stuff you probably have around the house. For example, you could use any level board and adhesive sandpaper to make your own fret leveling beam, or use an old debit card as a fret rocker. But this set is definitely worth it, to have tools meant for the job. It doesn't matter if the fret rocker isn't 100% straight; it's straight enough to get the job done. It doesn't matter that the included file isn't a diamond file. All these tools will get the job done for the player who just needs to work on their own equipment.In my case, my old Tele was suffering from uneven frets, causing nasty buzz and forcing me to play with the action uncomfortably high. All the tools in this set worked like a charm, and now it's playing great again. In the next year, I may need to use this set once or twice more on other guitars, and this set is perfect for those needs.

Right away when I unzipped the bag everything fell out, there are not enough spots to hold the items and they fit awkwardly into available slots. It was apparent immediately that all of the tools were of extremely cheap quality, I did not expect top notch for the price. But for around 75 bucks I expected something better than from the dollar store. I was hesitant to order this item, I should have listened to my instincts and other bad reviews, but it was the Christmas rush. I am going to have to end up buying the more expensive name brand specific tools my son needs now anyways because the ones that came with the kit aren't sturdy enough to even do anything. I should have bought those first and not wasted my money on this cheap kit. I gave it 3s because of it being convenient to buy all the items in a bundle.

Many luthier tools in a single kit. With this and their fret repair kit, I got almost every luthier tool required.

Needed this for a one time fret leveling job. With four different sandpaper grits, I was able to gently level the fret board. The fret crowning tool worked well and was not overly aggressive. Not really a tool for heavy shop usage but compact enough to carry for limited use.

This is a good basic kit for light or occasional guitar work. I have two guitars to work on, and this kit fits the bill. Works for me!Thanks ks. Kem. 12/18/23
