Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) is a South American ancient superfood known as the "mother of all grains" (although it’s technically a seed). It’s a complete source of protein (containing all 9 essential amino acids) - the same kind of protein found in meat and dairy. Quinoa is naturally gluten-free, low-glycemic, high in fiber, packed with vitamins and minerals, and has a high protein content - between 14-18%. We start with organic Bolivian quinoa - grown sustainably and traditionally where it originated centuries ago. With a few secret moves, we transform this high-protein superfood into light, airy puffs and toss them in real-food seasonings (nothing artificial). Unlike many healthy snacks, Quinoa Puffs pack a punch, with big and bold flavors like spicy Sweet Chili and gourmet Sea Salt Truffle. They're the perfect option when you're craving chips, but know you should avoid all the extra fat and calories. Quinoa Puffs are gluten-free, which makes these crispy snacks a great option to use as croutons, too. Plus, they're non-GMO, Kosher, and three of our four flavors are vegan.

Quality Con troll NEEDED
I've been addicted to these since I found them last year. But, out of the last 5 boxes only 2 were good. This last one & the 3rd one. The other 3 have been over deep fried & greasy to the point the cheddar cheese was greasy, too and stuck to the bag. This box was their last chance to do better at quality verification. The 3 greasy boxes should never been shipped and almost lost them a customer. I order almost a box a week & that's only for me.

Disappointing texture and mediocre flavor (3/5 green stars also).
I had high hopes for these quinoa puffs, imagining a delicious, healthy, and sustainable snack. As far as deliciousness goes, they are not at all my cup of tea. It would be better if they weren’t called Puffs because they are not puffy in the same way as regular corn-based cheese puffs (if it was Top Chef, Tom and Padma would chide them for not managing expectations!). They are fairly hard and crunchy and disappointing in texture. The sweet chili flavor is OK – not terrible but not good enough to make up for the texture issues. I also tried the aged cheddar flavor and didn’t like it at all. As far as healthiness goes, they are quite good (low fat and sugars, moderate fiber and good protein) – I’d prefer if the oil was expeller-pressed and more ingredients were organic. Quinoa is considered a superfood, a good source of balanced protein (containing all 9 essential amino acids), and anti-inflammatory benefits from tocopherols and other phytonutrients. For social and environmental impact I’m giving them 3/5 green stars. They use non-GMO ingredients but none are organic except for the sugar, a minor component. This is strange because their Clusters contain almost all organic ingredients, including the quinoa. They are vegan, so there are no dairy issues (as there are with the cheddar variety). Quinoa farming in South America (theirs comes from Bolivia) has received a lot of attention because the huge increase in demand has implications for soil fertility and local communities. I’d like to see I Heart Keenwah contributing in positive ways to social and environmental causes in the area. I’d also like to see some more information on their corporate sustainability (there are other snack brands out there using green energy, minimizing waste, attempting to introduce compostable packaging, supporting conservation projects, etc., such as Kettle and Boulder Canyon). I’m tempted to try their clusters since they are organic, but I’m equally tempted just to cook my own quinoa at home.

I can't have corn products so this is a nice alternative to Cheetos
I can't have corn products so this is a nice alternative to Cheetos. This is my favorite of the flavors (I've tried Sea Salt Truffle, Aged Chedder, Sweet Chili, and Herbs de Provence). They taste about how you would imagine a healthy Cheeto to taste, but are not as salty as you might think from the name. The truffle flavor is noticeable and good.

I really do Heart Keenwah!
I Heart Keenwah are so delicious and addictive. My family fights over who can finish off the bag first. They have a really great, strong crunch and a wonderful cheesy flavor. They really do satisfy that salty, crunchy craving. And the best part is that they are all natural, have no dyes and have some protein. I will certainly purchase these again, likely in bulk.

Bitter Aftertaste, Bummer
I really really wanted to like this item for its nutritional content, however, the herbs used were way too overwhelming to enjoy, and left a somewhat bitter aftertaste. I won't be purchasing these again. I love trying new snacks and generally am open to new tastes but as someone who knows how real Herbs de Provence should taste, I cannot recommend this product.

Nice Alternative Snack, and Healthy Too!
A very unusual snack food - healthy, salty, and a nice diversion from popcorn, roasted chickpeas, and half pops. I like this snack - not as a replacement for popcorn, but as a nice alternative when Iʻm in the mood for something different.

Didn't love these
We weren't a fan of these. They are fine: not too salty or bad tasting or anything. We just didn't care for the taste of them. I'm glad companies are making healthy snacks though. I was hoping my grandson would like them, but they were a "no go."
