The gas cap was delivered promptly, was a perfect replacement for the OEM cap, and packaging was a frustration-free, recyclable box. I watched a YouTube video for installation as my particular vehicle has a plastic piece that clamps over the end of the retainer cord. Unfortunately, replacing the gas cap did not resolve the “check fuel cap” warning.

My dash keeps blinking check fuel cap. It does this for a few miles after every time I fill up. I wasn’t sure this was a gas cap problem or something else but when I went to my mechanic he said my gas cap was loose. I turn it so that it clicks a good 4-5 times just to make sure it’s on tight but I’m still having the same issue. I think I need to buy another gas cap from the parts store, which costs twice the price. Also, the clip that holds the tether to the door isn’t included. I knew this but hoped I’d be able to find that clip on Amazon. No such luck, apparently you have to order it from Honda.

There’s nothing wrong with the tethered gas cap. The problem is that’s it’s missing a crucial element. The tether attached to the gas cap is connected to the gas cap door. In order to make that work, there’s a small round part at the end of the tether that fits into the door. That part is held in place by a tiny plastic part that fits on the door. Without it, you can’t connect the tether to the door. The replacement cap does not come with this tiny crucial part.It’s a small plastic part that you literally have to break to remove the old tether. That tiny cheap plastic part is not provided with the replacement cap- why? It’s probably worth 5 cents. Anyway, I’m sending the gas cap back because of this silly omission.

This came with the tether and was a perfect fit for my 2008 Honda CR-V. Took me a little while to figure out how to take the old tether off, but I was helped immensely by photos from another reviewer. This was a worthwhile buy for sure.

Seems to be just like original gas cap. I like the look and value of the item. I would like for it to include the small plastic snap in that connects to vehicle and keeps it in place as I had to use my old one, which was difficult to put back in. However, replacing with this part did not fix my issue with vehicle.

Worked to correct my maintenance required light. Perfect replacement including retaining strap.

Junk ! Didn’t do it’s job right out of the bag .After hunting junk yards for a replacement gas cap I decided to give this a try . SAVE YOUR MONEY and spend a bit more and get something that works properlyI ended up biting the bullet and forking it 65 bucks at the Honda dealer for one that works properly !!!
