Easy to use 4k really works well with decent WiFi 5 or 6
These devices just work! Plug in to USB on the TV, plug into an available HDMI port and poof it starts to work. When you change inputs on the TV to the 4k adapter, it displays a screen that says press windows+K to connect. That is all there is.If you want to get fancy download the wireless display app from windows store. Then you can customize the background, change the password and require a rotating PIN for new devices to connect (say in corporate environment). What everyone loves is if you have a newer WIFI adapter (and network), these things do flawless streaming in 4k, with little effort. Our conference rooms are finally easy to use.Don't stop there though you can connect your Apple device, or your android phone to the TV as well and cast straight to the display. It is true that many new TVs have this built in, but it is usually a proprietary form of WiDi and doesn't play nice with all devices. This DOES.You really cannot beat these things for the price. Beats the heck out of Chromecast, or an alexa device since you can literally cast any smart device to it up to 4k.

Easy conference room setup and use.
I have used these at two places of employment to resolve the issue of having 20 foot HDMI cables stretched across the conference room. It is super easy to set up. It requires a powered USB and an HDMI connection. No power cords to plug into the wall. Users find it very simple to connect to with windows machines. Stream is very clear and fast with no interruption. Great for business meetings and adding a simple logitech camera at the bottom makes for fantastic teams calls with a group.

Have purchase a second
Bought the first one for a friend who was unable to afford DirecTV. Now he can stream from his to the TV using the Smartview App on his Samsung phone. Worked so well I bought one for myself. We have older phones and I believe the newer phones do not support Smartview. The Adaptor hooks to the TV via USB and HDMI and allows you to mirror what is on your phone screen without the Adaptor having to connect to the Internet. I believe it transmits through the bluetooth connection. Anyway, it works great with anything stored on your phone or if you have a good internet Connection for streaming. I bought mine directly from Microsoft.

Solved a slew of issues at the company I work for!
If you're in IT for a business that lets you make decisions as to what equipment the company uses in their conference rooms, definitely go for these! Typically, set up is about 5 minutes, if you include the time it takes to get behind the display and install the thing. The actual connecting and set up is about 2 minutes. They work just about as well as can be expected, about 98% up-time, with a few little networking hiccups thrown in.Set up can be a little finicky sometimes, I've had 1 of the 4 I set up, just refuse to connect to my main laptop, but using a different computer, it worked just fine. Once you get it on the network and rename it, they work flawlessly. I also really like that you can set up a Pin for first time connections, and also a password for changing settings. I've never had an issue with anyone outside the company trying to connect, but knowing they can't is a plus!

**Originally I 1 starred this device but figured out the issue. This device can be very difficult to figure out if you have a less modern computer and use a VPN. The tech support assistance was of very very little help. They tried to help very hard but could not figure it out because they were not knowledgeable enough.Ok so i had an insane amount of problems getting this to work with my computer and it was very frustrating. So I want to list them as to be helpful to the next person in my shoes:ISSUE ONE:VPN. If you are using a VPN Lets just say for instance NORD VPN. While connecting to Los Angeles server that server gives me nothing but troubles. I found that the device would simply not work while connected to that server but would still work randomly but with issues when not connected to the VPN at all. Then it would just freeze. So.....ISSUE TWO:GRAPHICS CARD AND DRIVER:Geforce GTX GT 1030. It did not want to work at all with my computer so I tried another computer in which it worked fine and flawlessly. So I went back to this computer and tried searching for an update to my graphics card driver. After updating and connecting to a different server with my VPN and restarting the computer twice everything is now working flawlessly on this older computer as well.So I havent had enough time to fully review it but it has of this time been working very well for about 2 hours. I will update later.

If your Microsoft 4k Wireless Display Adapter randomly disconnects - READ THIS!
I installed this new Microsoft 4k Wireless Display Adapter on my 4K TV and quickly paired it with my new Windows 11 desktop computer. Voila... connected! From there, as suggested by the instructions, I installed the official Microsoft 'Wireless Display Adapter' app through the Microsoft app store. Through this app I updated the adapter to the latest firmware, changed the display name and wallpaper, and even got it connected to my WiFi (as Microsoft recommended for stability). Within a few minutes I started experiencing random disconnects, which lead me to believe that I received a defective product. A momentary Google search revealed no solutions, however, I quickly learned that many others here are having the same problem. I spent significant time trying to pinpoint the problem... not only did I find the problem, but I also identified the solution. I rarely write reviews but I figured it could help countless others who are beyond frustrated with the random disconnects. The solution is to simply reset the adapter using the reset button on the device itself. Once successfully reset, it should no longer be paired with your computer. From there hit Win + K and pair with it again. I found that once it has been paired again you can use the full functionality of the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter app WITHOUT the app requiring that the device first be connected to WiFi (changing name of device, wallpaper, etc). Bottom line, the problem is the WiFi function. I have phenomenal WiFi here so it is not on my end, I just think this device is unable to be stable over WiFi. Hope this helps... good luck!
