Very happy with this purchase. I have been wanting a mother of pearl backsplash for a long time however my only hesitation was how in the world was I going to cut it. I searched the internet and watched You tube videos trying to understand how others had done it. The tile is small and very thin. I tried the nippers and hand held glass cutters but with little success the edges were not clean and I could not seem to make straight cuts. I tried a wet saw pushing the tiles through using scrap wood to hold it down on either side of the blade and did have some success but it was hard to keep the last tile steady and I could only cut through the middle of the mesh tile sheet because I needed to hold it down on both sides. In the end I had tremendous success using a Dremel 4300 with a diamond blade bit that I found on Amazon. I was able to pencil mark the lines I wanted and then with a steady hand cut the tile with a lot of precision. Because the tile was so thin and I have zero experience installing or working with tile I ended up using "Simple Mat" from Home Depot to adhere the tile to the wall. It is like double sided sheets that you put on the wall then press the tiles into it to stick. I was worried I would not be able to readjust the tiles to go where I wanted them once I put them on the simple mat but I was actually able to place them and pull them off and adjust as needed. My only difficulty was the grouting. I think my struggles came from inexperience and not any fault of the tile. The tile is thin so you have to wait for a magical window when the grout is dry enough not to completely wipe out but not too dry to wipe away from the tile surface. The surface is not flat - it is natural tile so there are indents that can get tricky. I recommend you go slow. The color of the tile is primarily white but not stark, it has some natural hue to it and even some gray spots so seemed rather versatile. The price of these tiles with the beauty can not been beat! Trust me I really looked.

I have wanted to finish the backsplash in my kitchen for some time but did not know quite what to choose in order to do so. I decided that something with shine and texture would look great with the black granite countertops and darker cabinets. These mother of pearl shell tiles made perfect sense. I was so pleased at just how easy they were to install since they "interlock" on their edges and can be easily cut using a Dremel tool with a cutting disc. I edged them with a ceramic-backed stainless steel tile that complements both the appliances and the brushed nickel outlet plates. Instead of using thinset, I used Liquid Nails "Projects" Adhesive (LN-700) in tubes, dabbing the backside of the edge/end tiles and then running a thin bead across each line of the backs of the tiles. Not a lot of adhesive is required since the tiles are relatively thin and hold to the wall readily. When I needed to fit small tiles as filler, I cut them and used the adhesive then taped the front with painter's tape until each piece dried. The best thing about this tile installation is the lack of grout at the end for finishing. The tiles are close enough to where it's NOT needed. Small gaps (which are rare) can be filled with a very small amount of white caulk. I am so pleased with the results and highly recommend these tiles even to the beginner DIY-er.

We were able to apply it over the old tile which saved a lot of work and expense. I’d recommend this to anyone who what’s an updated and more modern look.

The tiles are natural and have a unique way of catching the light. Worth every penny invest in quality a natural product never goes out of style. Treat yourself they are pretty to look at!

If you are looking to make a statement, these are the tiles to do it! They are absolutely gorgeous!! We did receive a couple boxes (we ordered 10) where some of the corners were broken, but the company is smart and adds in extra full pieces. It’s not the easiest to put up because you have to work to get them to fit together, but it’s worth it. It was easy enough to replace any broken tiles with full ones. They cut great with a wet tile saw and for individual pieces we used a tile clipper when needed. We did do a white grout because we just found that we couldn’t get the tiles close enough together, but now it’s looks seamless.We couldn’t be happier with the end result!!!

I used these on a fireplace surround. I installed them over existing tile with no difficulties. I did not prime the existing tiles as they did not have a shiney surface and I used a premixed adhesive/ grout. The adhesive is white so it filled any small gaps that came up during the installation. I cut them with a Dremel/type tool. The are easy enough to cut but as the tiles are so small it is a bit time consuming. In the end I am very happy with the outcome. I would say that an experienced DIY'er would find these tiles easy to install. I am so glad I found these tiles.
