Marinetech Panther 55-0135 Model 135 Trim and Tilt

Product was exactly as described and appears very sturdy and well made. This was fitted to a 35 year old Johnson 140 that never had power tilt/trim installed (it weighs less than the manufacturer's 350 lb limit). Using an engine hoist, the install took an hour. Electrical was a snap, just plug and play. The tilt range and speed are much the same as OEM and it had no problem making fine trim adjustments at wide open throttle. Being able to adjust trim on the fly yielded a top speed increase of 1.5 knots. The actual install work is appropriate for boaters with intermediate skills, provided they have access to an engine hoist, and provided the outboard has standard BIA mounting bolt pattern - full size bolt templates are provided by Panther in case drilling is required. Longer mounting bolts may be required than the original installation, the Panther base plate is quite thick. Some changes to control cables may be required as this system moves the engine 6-7" off the transom. I was able to use existing throttle and shift cables but some re-routing was required; every boat is different.Highly recommended, especially as it is typically much cheaper than accessing equivalent factory parts.
