I am a Special Education Teacher
First know that I am a special education teacher at a high school level teaching students experiencing a variety of barriers including disability, socioeconomic status, and being in process of learning English. I have been teaching individuals who experience disability for going on 20 years. All of my students have had a lot of failure around academics which has led to the additional complication of learned helplessness. These books are an awesome resource to help them push past these barriers in a way that leans on their strengths by making it visual and seem less intimidating. I have been using them for warm ups, challenge questions and "break" days from the normal curriculum to keep them working on their logic and reasoning skills (critical for life as well as math tasks) and keeping the math portions of their brains active. I started off with the free samples but these have been so popular and high demand that I have bought every book that is available to I have as much variety as possible and so I don't run out!

Great thinking activities; not great presentation
I love the activities, however, the simple graphics and greyscale make the book seem cheap. I wish there was color and an e-version so I don't have to scan pages to project them.I do love that these are aligned to standards, making it easy to find one that applies to what we are learning.

Great Resource!
This was chosen as a "door prize" for teachers attending our Math Teachers' Circle. Teachers from elementary through college find it a great resource to encourage students to THINK and discover answers on their own...even if they have to struggle a little to do it. Students are encouraged and learning is reinforced when they proactively try to solve the questions. Thank you for a great resource!

Pages bigger than cover
Pages are bigger than cover so pages will get bent up. Book pages are 3/8” longer than cover. Seems like a printing error on printers end.

Really helpful!!!
I purchased this over the summer, planning to use it with my 8th graders as a bell-ringer. I found it to be a little advanced for them (8th grade section), so I appreciate the 6th and 7th grade options to use for review and practice. Thanks so much for a great resource!!!

Good bell ringer
I’ve been wanting to work on writing better explanations in math. My students are loving these because they see it as a game! Their explanations have been great since it’s only one at a time. Love this resource!
