Excellent resolution and image quality. Expensive, but mostly worth it.
I bought the BlackVue DR900X kit with two cameras, as well as an aluminum mounting bracket. It's performed extremely well for me. The only complaint I have is that the image quality suffers a bit if you don't buy a polarizing filter for both the front and rear cameras. In particular, the rear camera really needed it in my Mazda3 as I was having all kinds of glare and reflections from the glass. Polarizing lens cleared that up immediately.Overall the camera works very well in all lighting conditions. The impact sensing is EXTREMELY sensitive by default, so you will have to dial it down considerably in order for the camera to not sense an impact when driving over bridge expansion joints or small potholes. I've become used to not slamming my car door shut when I park -- this is easily detected too. The software is generally quite good and though I don't use the cloud capabilities (which are quite good, I just don't want to pay for a 5G hotspot in my car), it's easy to connect to the camera via WiFi and download or view the videos.Generally I'm very happy with the purchase. It's pretty expensive, but I think it's mostly worth it. It would be nice if the SD card it came with was a bit bigger -- this would be a great way to make the price a little less painful. Still, if you have the money, it's a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind.

Best Dash/Rear Cam Setup
Extremely well made & intelligently designed. Relatively easy to install & no ridiculous suction cup mount. Reasonably priced. Video quality is superb. Phone app (Android) was a little challenging to get setup but tech support was knowledgeable, patient & polite. Camera should come standard with 256 micro SD card, not offered as over-priced option. Eventually, a similar system will be offered as a factory-installed option in every car but util then, this is the system to purchase & install. It will pay for itself the 1st time some clown tries to accuse you of causing an accident that was their fault.

Failed to Live Up to its Price!
I was initially impressed by this dash cam's features and the positive reviews. I should've paid more attention to the negative reviews. I had purchased a cheaper 4K brand and returned it in favor of this one before I even installed it. The installation was a nightmare, the App was not easy to configure, rear camera showing image upside down and mirrored right to left which I had to seek assistance from customer service several times. Turns out the cable connecting rear cam has to be installed in one direction which was not made clear enough in the manual. Hardwiring for parking monitor was tricky for my BMW, ended up paying several hundred $$ to correct a fault with the circuit for the seat belt system as a result of trying different fuse connections...lessons learned the hard way. The big surprise right out of the gate, they want you to subscribe at $11.99/month to their service so you can view recorded videos for more than 10 minutes/day, a big rip-off. I also didn't find the Cloud feature very useful unless you add the optional Sim card module to have constant mobile wireless connection. Then after 3 weeks of operations it suddenly went haywire, App unable to connect to the camera. I tried to reset camera, update/rollback firmware, format microSD card, reinstall App a number of times, meanwhile getting no useful help from their customer service. I was able to get it semi-functional again but still couldn't connect the App to the camera using the built-in WiFi on my Android phone without having to first disable the mobile data connection, which was unacceptable. Finally, I decided to return it and go with another brand. For the price of this camera (over $350 on Amazon), I expected more for this price. Picture quality is not as good as the cheaper 4K cam I went with. I cannot recommend this dash cam.

Best Blackvue Camera Yet!
I'm a long time Blackvue customer. Their cameras keep getting better and better. This is best by far! I easily installed it myself and made it so it is powered all the time using the alternate Batt and ACC wiring harness. I love the setting options that are now provided such as battery level checking which will make the unit power off if the battery drops to a certain level. I also like the ability to set whether to overwrite old Event files if the SD card gets full. That is huge! I was always having to reformat the SD card for fear that the card would get full of untouchable Event files and not record anything. The 4K video file recording is the main reason I got the camera. The normal HD video files of the older cameras had a hard time showing license plate numbers unless the car was directly in front. It's an expensive unit, but you get what you pay for...

Video quality issues!
Update!April 2023: After the 3rd replacement finally I got one which work fine without an issue for 2 months.I am increasing the stats to 4 and will give a 5 star if no problem in 6 months. My DR900S gave up after 4 years. Instead spending the $150-200 for repair I decided to get the new 900X-plus. My wife has one in her car and it’s working great. Super clear videos where you can read plates etc without any issues.Install was easy seamless just in 15 seconds. Easily did the firmware upgrade and started checking the specs.I realized that the front camera videos are blurry. You can easily see the pixelation. Cross checked with my wife’s cam videos nothing even close. Wine is like a 720p video. My old DR900S was way better. Got in touch with company and they told its an hardware focus issue. Returned and bought another one. Unfortunately same issue. In addition GPS time could not set properly. Had to set to a different time zone to have real reading.Got again in touch with company and most probably will send clips again for analysis. I think the seller has bad batch of cameras. This couldn’t be a coincidence. Otherwise the built and look is perfect. Rear cam day night videos are great. Will update my review after I get a working camera with crystal clear images.
