When's the last time you enjoyed installing a high-tech product???
This kit checks all the boxes for what I want core home automation to do. Monitor doors, watch for broken pipes, keep an eye on the fridge, turn on the lights when I come in the room. I still need a few more devices, but you always need just a few more devices! Fortunately their prices are very reasonable as well. The basic setup literally took under an hour. Plug in the hub, download the app, create a basic account, scan in the various sensor QR codes, place the sensors and off it all goes. It was actually fun, believe it or not! I didn't use the wifi connection for the hub, just went straight to ethernet. Some folks report issues with trying to get the wifi working, but I can't comment on that since I didn't bother with it. I don't have any of the auto-water shutoff tech installed, just the leak sensor. But the price for YoSmart’s water valve actuator is impressively low, and keep in mind some homeowner’s insurance will give you a discount for having a leak detection and shutoff system installed. One thing that may not be evident from YoSmart's descriptions of their products is that sending devices (door switches, motion sensors, etc) can be paired with receivers (smart plugs, siren, switches) in a direct way that then allows you to remove the hub/cloud from the setup. So having a light come on when the door opens can be a standalone setup. And yes, you can have the light turn back off when the door closes, despite erroneous comments about this elsewhere. The LoRa radio technology is great. Strong signal from all sensors including the one in the fridge and the mailbox. I also have no problem believing the sensors will run for years on one set of batteries. Just use lithium ones, as most of the battery life is lost just from self-discharge, rather than device activity since the sensors barely draw power until they have to send a status change. Lithium’s a good at sitting essentially at idle. Sensors subjected to low temps like that one in the freezer will also do much better with lithium batteries. The only problem I had with the whole setup was a door sensor that was DOA. I took it apart to check the batteries and discovered one of the two AAA batteries was installed backwards. As a result, the batteries ran down. I replaced the batteries and all was good again. The only install issue I had (not YoSmart’s fault) was a door set very deeply in a frame. I couldn’t use the provided door magnet because there was no place to put it. See pictures. Fortunately I had a cylindrical magnet designed for conventional alarm system reed switches. It embeds flush in a door jam. I used that instead of the official magnet and problem solved. If you run into this issue, you could probably use a fridge magnet embedded in a hole in the jam too. Just pick a strong one to make the gap as reliable as possible. The pictures show the magnet partially installed, and then fully installed. My only tech support question was answered quite quickly, and in the middle of the night to boot. It may help that Emily is in China I’m guessing, but it works for night owls like me! It will also be interesting to see how interfacing to voice assistants Alexa or Google Assistant and whether that requires any support to get it going. Finally I should mention the documentation included with the devices is very minimal, and is often enough to get things working. But their YoSmart website has far more in-depth instructions to help get the less intuitive aspects of the configurations working.

YoSmart is the Best Smart Home Company Out There
I can’t say enough about this company and the team. Literally the most helpful and accommodating company I’ve ever worked with and there products are fabulous and really well thought out and designed I’ve Owned every piece of gear they’ve made and even after my house burnt down (unrelated) I went and repurchased all of there offerings again for the new place it’s that good. Seriously you may have doubts bc they require a special hub but it’s bc they use a better technology that simple besides its a $20 hub don’t be cheap it comes included in most bundles like this one. They stand behind there products as well I had an issue and called once they had answered my call after business hours and not only did they solve my problem as I spoke to someone who clearly was an engineer and had intimate tech level product knowdledge. (Im guessing this was the principal owner and designer) after he solved my issue he then asked what else I’d like to see and ya know what a few short weeks later they had made the suggestions I gave a reality. These guys are the best. Trust me you won’t regret your purchases when using YoLink smart home products.

Need an programing degree to use many of the functions
The hardware is well made and functions great. The software on the other side is very very difficult to setup and use. I wanted to be able to turn the system on and off when I was at home or away…nope!! I finally took all the door sensors and motion sensors off and only use the water detection and alarm. Had a water leak in the attic and wanted to monitor for future leaks. The water detector works great and it was easy enough to setup but trying to put the door and motion sensors on any type of schedule or easily turn on and off when home or away are impossible for me to figure out, even with YouTube videos and the user manual. YoLink needs to invest in a WAY more user friendly software program. The “if” “then” statements needed to get it to work isn’t cutting it.

Works well
Love the variety so that we can cover all bases. It even sends you a reminder that the door is still open.

I use this mostly for the water leak warning
I have one in the bathroom and inside the kitchen floor cabinets as most of the pipes are in that area. It saved me a much flood damage because of someone leaking the sink running one day.... Doh! Waiting for them to develop a camera option : )

Don't waste your money
I've had this system for a few months. It worked at first. If the motion sensor was activated or a window was opened the siren would go off.. So yesterday not thinking I raised my window.. NOTHING.. All I got was a text the window was opened, but the siren won't go off. I checked all the connections then hot the bottom to rest the siren. It works fine. I have it set up in the yolink app and also in Alexa to set of the alarm when the sensors are triggered.. Nothing. A little under $100 with of equipment that I thought was keeping me safe and it doesn't do a thing but send a text notification

Very impressed with range, intuitive setup, reasonable price of devices, smooth integration w/Alexa!
I got tired of waiting for Alexa's Sidewalk and implemented YoLink yesterday to make sure the gate to our backyard is always secured before letting our dog out. Very impressed with YoLink's range, intuitive setup of the hub and sensor, reasonable price of other devices and its smooth integration with Alexa! I will still look forward to Sidewalk for long-range security camera control, but otherwise I look forward to adding other YoLink (LoRa) devices. And i hope YoLink will add a tracking dog collar!
