American Bass XR 12" 4 Ohm 2400 Max Watts Car Subwoofer

My opinion is based on what i have personally owned. Starting with a simple kicker comp 10, to a 12 inch audiobahn. Then i learned a little more and started to look for subs that were a notch up from there. A old school memphis hpo 12d4 and couple months later i changed it out for a Rockford Fosgate P3 12d4. Again, with more experience and a new knowledge of brands that offered a step up in quality and performance i purchased a Soundqubed HDC212 d2. I made each of these subs their own custom enclosures, some multiple enclosures. Each sub was a step up from the previous. A couple weeks ago, after months of researching, the American Bass XR 12d2 woofer was getting its enclosure built and installed. I kept the power from the amp set to provide about half of this subs rated rms. I was very impressed to say the least. Ive now have my amp gain set appropriately to my headunits sensitivity (Memphis 16 Pr1000.1d and Pioneer Mvh 580bs) for a potential of 1000wrms. this sub is loud. this sub sounds awesome. this sub was a great buy. the xr 12d2 is built for more as a sound quality type of sub first, but not by sacrificing its authority in the low and loud department by any means. Ive actually opted to turn the sub volume down cause my car sounds like going to vibrate apart when i turn on the bass heavy jams. In a 3 cubic ft box tuned to about 29 hertz, it is a beast. I cant wait till ive tamed the insane rattlings that are going insane through out my car. without a doubt, i would recommend this sub to someone who is still learning but ready to up their level of subs a couple notches but are not ready to commit to the huge price leap that come on brands like SSA, Incrimedator, Ascendant, ect... from just their entry level products. And a little FYI, i fully believe, they are worth every penny and more. But so is this sub. my set up currently 6.5 silverflutes mids / 2 channel db drive spa 80 watt amp Vifa Xt25 tweeters / 35 watt 2 channel old school sony amp (before sony went xplode) 1 xr 12d2 subwoofer / Memphis PR1000.1 class d (the older version, the beast version) Pioneer Mvh x580bs with enhanced audio features 100% cooper 0 guage for sub amp, 100% cooper 4 gauge to mids and tweets amp. 100% cooper 0 gauge big there electrical up grade. A very respectable and complete, budget friendly system.

So first is first. You better have at least 1.5k watts for this think. It’s power hungry. I have a Skar 1500d and replaced my factory battery with an XS 4800. I have the dual 2ohm voice coil which can be wired to 4 ohms (not as powerful) and 1 ohm. I let it play for about 1-2 days 8 hours probably with 4ohms and it was nice. Just deep bass good lows not loud and reliable. The amp was always cold. I finally wired it to 1 ohm and holy mother of god. It’s crazy it sounds like 2 subs to be honest. I had the amp professionally put in and I’d changed the Skar sub that I bought originally cause the Skar 1500 was too much for the SVR 12. I got this and now this does not fit with The rubber grommet around the metal see my video. I had to place the ring under the sub and screw through it to make a nice right seal between the box and sub as the raised lips of the Skar box don’t allow the circumference to fit. Let’s see how long this sun lasts. I think it will. I can’t believe how low it gets. And this is not even tuned or in a custom box this is just a thrown together setup and I am in love.

Single 10 and it slams! Built well huge motor and heavy.

really good subwoofer I've had it for about a month now and fell in love with American based products eventually I will get a American bass amp also just to try out, my old subwoofers were Power Acoustik mofos and these blow those out of the water when it comes to true SPL with a bit of sound quality also, definitely worth the price all I have is two of these and I am perfectly satisfied, only problem is now I need to upgrade my power electrical system in my Honda Civic lol

I love the quality and richness of sound. I've bought more expensive subwoofers that this one can compete with. Don't think about it just buy it you will be extremely satisfied. It definitely is underrated and takes more power than advertised. Trust me it's worth every penny. It literally sets off alarms when I drive by. Just buy , I wasn't sure about this brand but guess what, I'm a believer now lol.

By far the best sub I've ever bought hands down. Ive had Sundowns kickers Alpine and let me tell you I was skeptical going to a brand I don't know with bad experience in the past. Reviews and spec I did find were good so gave it a chance and let me say "MERICA" American bass I will buy your products in the future. This sub at $150 blew subs I had paid double for. Hits hard but the wow factor is how clean and crisp the bass is, unbelievable! Never heard a sub hit so hard and have such high SQ! Running q bomb box and 1800.1d hifonics zues amp perfect combo sounds like 2 12" high qaulity subs out of a single sub setup up. Nice to have the extra trunk space.

I recommend this Sub! After burning up 2 voice coils on 2 separate Skar 12's I went with this and it hits just as hard (fresh out the box not broken in) as the Skars did broken in.
